A generational player is beginning to emerge in Baltimore.
Samuel Basallo, last 30 games:
30 G | .354 AVG | 35 H | 6 HR | 19 RBI | 16 R | 1.020 OPS
The league better start paying attention.
Kelvin Sampson doesn’t mention the word talent once here.
He talks about attitude, effort, body language, and consistency.
Because those are the habits that win.
This clip is a masterclass in what really matters.

The Orioles entered the ninth with three hits, four double plays and a four-run deficit.
Then they put eight straight batters on base.
Pete Alonso’s first walk-off as an Oriole capped a stunning 6-5 comeback over the Blue Jays — Baltimore’s third walk-off win in seven days.

I know 3 D1 Head Mens Basketball Coaches and 1 Major Program Assistant that were all NAIA Head Coaches less than 5-6 years ago.
Those same coaches would get ignored left and right by recruits and coaches then….but now everyone wants to be their friend and “has a player for them”.
Don’t ignore ANY coach because you simply never know what it can lead to.
Committing to play D3 isn’t “settling”, it’s a significant achievement of commitment, focus and hard work especially when 7% or less of HS players go onto college.

Be a Great Teammate.
This has been everything we could have hoped for and more.
Thunder. Spurs. Winner gets the Knicks.
An OKC team on a repeat mission. A young San Antonio team with the new face of the NBA.
Saturday Night. Game 7. Glorious.
The Orioles had chances all night.
They left seven runners on base, went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position and saw a ABS challenge help Toronto push across the go-ahead run in a 2-1 loss Friday night. Pete Alonso also took responsibility for a costly baserunning mistake in the eighth inning.

The Orioles are giving another homegrown pitching prospect a chance in Baltimore, calling up 25-year-old righty Cameron Weston.

One day you’re gonna wake up and AAU basketball will be over. No more weekend tournaments, packed gyms, or team hotels. No more “one more game” next weekend.
One day you’ll be out of eligibility for high school basketball. Then college basketball too.
And eventually, the thing that feels like your whole world right now becomes a memory.
So stop playing scared. Shoot your shot. Sprint the floor. Dive on the loose ball. Compete with confidence. Enjoy your teammates. Because one day you’ll wish you could go back and play just one more game with them.
Fear and hesitation have ended way more careers than missed shots ever will.
Just something to think about.

Brian Reese, who led Maryvale girls lacrosse to back-to-back IAAM A Conference titles and a No. 1 ranking this spring, will not return next season.
Reese told The Baltimore Sun his decision stemmed from frustrations with school leadership and what he described as a lack of support for the program.
