Talked to #Illini head baseball coach Dan Hartleb about avoiding information overload with his guys.
Interesting 2.5 minutes here, IMO.
"You want to give your players information, yet, they have to react."
"In baseball 70% of the hits are in front of the outfield. So if you train to hit them over the outfielders, you're training for 30%."
Says he doesn't want players overly focused on metrics and analytics -- need to go compete at some point.

Thank you to Coach Thornton for this opportunity! Thank you to my many coaches, I would not be the player I am today without you all. I am so grateful for the many friends made in the game, and families who have continued to cheer me on and have made me feel so loved. I cannot thank my family enough for their continued encouragement and constant support in my journey. Most of all, thanks and praise to GOD for guiding me into this new chapter of my life. Brady Louck produced four swings-and-misses with the fastball today. Tons of late life on the FB at 90-92, plays up from the velo. Three-pitch mix with a curveball and changeup today. A look at the FB:
Good luck to Class of '23 Brady Louck! He is competing in the College World Series for Florida State University. Brady is the first Bengal to compete in the D-1 College World Series in school history!
