The Probuild ITM Mainland Pouākai hold off a spirited Southerin Hoiho to take the win 99-92 and book a ticket to their first Grand Final in franchise history.
Marena Whittle lead the way as she flirted with triple double territory but found plenty of support with four teammates hitting double figures led by Bree Hall (20pts, 4rbs). Taylah Simmons and Claire Jacobs the best of the visitors with 21 a piece.

The Pouākai will host the Whai next Sunday at 3pm live on Sky Open and Sky Sport 2 in New Zealand. @skysportnz

High level PG available from New Zealand. Will have instant impact on a 2 or 4 year program.

[Alex Stojkovic @CoachStojkovic]

One of the best players I have coached in over 20 years.

Tremendously high basketball IQ. Above average on-ball and team defender. Unbelievable work ethic.

He is as good as they come from New Zealand.

Proven winner.

The Spurs from around 2014 inspired my coaching philosophy in a major way.

Popovich built an amazing culture of excellence over such a sustained period of time.

One of the all time greats!

[Shams Charania @ShamsCharania]

BREAKING: Gregg Popovich will no longer be Head Coach of the San Antonio Spurs and is transitioning full-time to Team President, sources told ESPN. The iconic Popovich is a Basketball Hall of Famer, the NBA’s all-time winningest coach, and led the Spurs to five championships.
