Seniors:

Your final fall season is nearing the end.

Take it all in.

- Cherish your teammates
- Cherish your coaches
- Cherish the bus rides
- Cherish the wins
- Cherish the fun
- Cherish it all

It goes fast.

And before you know it.

It is over.

And you can’t get it back.

Inspired by the phenomenal play of Makaia Rekord, the SL girls' volleyball team defeated Hingham, 3-1, tonight. The Lakers (9-7) will carry a 3-game winning streak into their next match at Whitman-Hanson on Friday.

[SL Athletics @SLakeathletics]

The REAL outcome of any high school athletic contest cannot be measured by points on a scoreboard. Kudos to the SL volleyball players who reminded us of this during tonight's Breast Cancer Awareness Game.

Parents: If there’s ONE video you watch on social media today. Please let it be this one:

Frank Martin discusses parents attempting to coach their kids from the sidelines.

[Coach Swit @CoachSwit]

Last night a Coach messaged me & said. "Hi Coach, I'm a new High School Coach on year number 2. "I am starting to think Parents just rather see their son play and can careless if the team wins or not as long as their kid is playing. Was wondering have you ever experienced this?"

[Coach Wicker @CoachWickerSL]

While it’s been a fun ride, I have made the decision to step down as girls basketball coach at Silver Lake 🏀🏀 I am grateful for the opportunity from @SLakeathletics and I wish the team and program continued success and will definitely be bringing my boys to watch!!

In a well fought + respectable loss to #5 OA (43-40), the Lakers end 8-14.

A lot was learned tonight + grateful for the opportunity to pick-up in a better place than we did at the close of last season.

Lakers led by:
🏀 C. Conroy 15 + 11 rbds
🏀 K. Lanza 11
🏀 C. Lanza 9

[Eric McHugh @emchugh229]

OA played great perimeter D on Silver Lake’s last possession, forcing Chloe Lanza into a contested 3-pointer with under 3 seconds left. The shot caught iron, clinching a 43-40 Tigers win. Fine effort by underdog Lakers. @sports_ledger @BrocktonSports @OAHSTigersports @SLGBBall

Any boys interested in playing
volleyball this spring should attend a meeting on Monday March 4 in the fitness room at 2pm. We need more players to make this happen!
