Dedicated players including top North American competitors on the SWC2026 leaderboard want crucial fixes to Samurai Shodown’s online infrastructure. We love this game and want to see its competitive integrity preserved. Here is our constructive feedback and core requests:
1. Add a Legacy 120fps Netcode Toggle for Xbox Series X|S
While rollback netcode helped the 60fps PS/PC versions, it negatively impacted the Xbox Series X|S versions. Prior to the rollback update, the 120fps delay-based netcode on Xbox Series offered unprecedented stability, zero desyncs, fewer lobby crashes, and flawless cross-region play (specifically NA to Japan).
Our Request: We ask SNK to add a menu option allowing Series X|S users to toggle between Rollback and the legacy 120fps delay-based netcode. Since this code was previously fully functional, it requires no new development—just an implementation toggle.
2. The Reality of Crossplay
Standard crossplay with 60fps platforms degrades the unique 120fps advantage of the Xbox Series version. However, a viable solution would be Xbox-to-PC crossplay via Xbox Play Anywhere, restricted to PC hardware capable of maintaining 120fps.
3. Critical Steam Bug Fixes
The Steam version currently faces severe barriers to entry that inhibit community growth:
Fixing the "Red X" launch bug that prevents the game from starting.
Resolving the netcode bug that falsely bans players from online matchmaking.
4. GSL patch consistency across all platforms

We have compiled a comprehensive technical report detailing these issues and have submitted it via official SNK email channels. We welcome any suggestions from the broader community on how to best get these solutions noticed by SNK.
