The #Chargers have finalized the hiring of Western Michigan defensive ends coach/pass rush specialist Sean Spence, sources tell @CBSSports.
The former Miami and NFL linebacker worked with new Chargers DC Chris O’Leary at WMU and helped the team rank among the nation’s best defenses.
Unfortunate news to share this morning. The world has lost a great man. Jeff Thorne is now in Heaven. Thorne, who led his North Central College team to the 2019 National Championship, had been fighting stomach cancer. Today, Jeff rests in peace with his Lord and Savior. May God share His peace with the Thorne family.
First and foremost, I want to thank my family, coaches, teammates, and friends for always supporting and pushing me to be the best version of myself on and off the field.
After much prayer, thought, and discussion with my loved ones, I am truly blessed to announce that I will be committing to Ferris State to continue my academic and athletic career!
Thank you to every school that recruited me and believed in me throughout this process. I’m excited for what’s ahead, and I can’t wait to get to work and continue my dad’s legacy! Go DAWGS And forever a Bulldog

New addition to the staff is Quarterback Assistant Travis Russell (@Coach_TRussell).
Russell was a two-time state champion at Grand Rapids (Mich.) West Catholic and starting QB for D-II powerhouse Ferris State. Made coaching stops at Union High School, Ferris State and Massachusetts before arriving at Michigan.
He will work with offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey to develop a talented QB room in Ann Arbor.
The #Chargers are expected to promote Dylan Roney to be their new EDGE coach, sources tell @CBSSports/@247Sports.
Comes after the 29-year old rising star was a leading figure for that edge rusher group as a defensive assistant this past season. Was a grad assistant at Michigan for three seasons before making the move to the Chargers last year.

After a ton of prayer and consideration, I couldn’t be more excited to announce my commitment to @HopeCollegeFB. I want to thank Jesus Christ for giving me this opportunity to further pursue my faith and continue to play a sport I love. I also want to thank my family and coaches.
