We should be teaching off ball screen reads to youth players…
But instead we are arguing with refs every weekend
We should be correcting shooting mechanics…
But instead we are installing diamond press zones to win pointless tournaments
This is my problem with youth hoops.

100%! YES THEY DO!
They like the ones who show up on time, work hard, accept coaching, get it done in the classroom, work hard in practice, set the example & are athletes of high character. It’s easy to favor someone who does all the right things.
Dear kids, US coaches stay on you about the "Little Things" of being on time, touching a line, going to class, etc. because DISCIPLINE is the most important trait of a CHAMPION. How you do ANYTHING is how you do EVERYTHING and it will soon show...
This basketball thing really is a long long journey. As a guy who coaches MS and HS I really appreciate every youth and travel ball coach that teach and develop kids the right way!! They don’t get nearly enough credit. It is not easy to do. Especially in today’s climate….
