3rd in State!
Boys Golf’s season comes to an end with a 3rd-place finish at the State Tournament. The Spartans historic season was highlighted by claiming the first-ever Metro West Conference Championship, a Section Championship, and a spot on the podium at State.
Congrats to Dylan Collins on being named Ms. Lacrosse, an award presented annually to the most outstanding senior girls lacrosse player in Minnesota. Dylan recently capped off a historic career as the programs all-time leader in goals (313), assists (136), and total points (449).
ICYMI: Girls Track & Field made history by capturing the program’s first-ever State Championship! The Spartans earned podium finishes in eight different events, highlighted by claiming state titles and new AA state records in both the 4x800m and 4x100m.

Girls Track & Field captures its first State Championship in school history! This team delivered outstanding performances all season long and capped it off on the biggest stage with a memorable finish to bring home the Class AA State Title. Congrats, Spartans!
4th in State!
Congratulations to Max Skanse and Anthony Perrill on their fourth place doubles finish at the Boys State Tennis Tournament! An outstanding accomplishment and a strong finish to two impressive careers representing Orono Tennis.
Softball’s memorable season comes to an end with a hard-fought 4-2 loss to Mankato East in the Consolation Championship. The Spartans finish 6th at State after an incredible postseason run that culminated in the program’s first State Tournament berth in more than a decade.
Section Champs!
Two teams. Two titles. Both the Boys and Girls Track & Field teams are Section 6AA Champions!

Section Champs! State Bound!
Spartans knock off Westonka in back-to-back games to capture the Section 6AAA Championship! Orono won five consecutive elimination games en route to claiming the section title. Spartans head back to state for the first time in over a decade!
Softball picks up two wins to advance to tomorrow’s Section 6AAA Final! Spartans defeated DeLaSalle before knocking off No. 1 seed BSM. Orono faces Westonka tomorrow at 3:00 PM at Aquila Park and will need two straight wins for the section title.
Section Champs! State Bound!
Boys Golf fired a two-day total of 578 to claim the Section 2AAA Championship! Spartans were paced by three golfers finishing in the top six, with Frenz placing 2nd, Kringen 4th, and Pfingsten 6th.
Girls Lacrosse closed the regular season on a 12 game winning streak to finish 12-1 overall. Spartans also went unbeaten in conference play to capture the Metro West Conference Championship for the second consecutive season!
Section play begins next week.
Softball rolls past Blake in the opening round of section play to advance in the winners bracket! Spartans will now host Westonka on Thursday at 4:30 PM. Special congrats to Gabby Kastamo and Ava Drake for combining to throw a perfect game in the postseason opener.
2026 Metro West Boys Golf Conference Champions! History made for the Spartans as Boys Golf captures the first conference championship in program history. Special congratulations to Ayden Frenz on earning individual medalist honors with a five-under round of 67 on the day.
Boys Golf put together a historic round at Braemar today, firing a new school-record 284! Kringen led the charge with a 6-under 66, while Falkum carded a 2-under 70.
