The majority of HS athletes won’t play at the next level. The HS athletic experience should be built around what’s best for those athletes, not the few who are lucky enough to continue to play. Build your program to include all of your kids. HS sports should be about HS athletes!
I am fortunate to have been invited by Coach Josh Tarrell to be an assistant on his Division 5- South WBCA All-Star staff. Here is the link for donations: https://t.co/JVVD7JJ7rd Thanks in advance for your financial support!
Many HS athletes will never college play sports! Our main goal as a coach is to develop young people and instill good morals and values in their lives!
5 Keys to have a Great Week!
1. Surround yourself with positivity!
2. Get rid of negativity (people, situations, and self-talk).
3. Look for the best in others.
4. Practice gratitude & appreciation.
5. Give more, serve more, love more...expect less!
PLAYERS: You choose your energy level and your attitude. These can be contagious. Negative energy and a poor attitude can infect your teammates. Positive energy and a good attitude can be like a big boost of Vitamin-C. Great teammates provide a spark and energize their team.
We weren’t born to be worriers.
We were born to be WARRIORS!
85% of the things people worry about never happen!
Worry causes us to think about what-if scenarios that will never happen!
The more we pray-the less we’ll worry.
Let prayer be your go to > worry overwhelming you!
Life is never going to be perfect. It’s not intended to be. It’s a series of challenges. Some easy. Some difficult. Every person has a unique journey. Don’t let anger, jealousy, envy, etc, keep you from taking your journey as the best possible version of yourself that you can be!
PLAYERS PLAY. TOUGH PLAYERS WIN.
Tough players compete regardless of the circumstances. They play through situations. They keep playing in spite of poor officiating. They play tough when they are tired. They gut it out when adversity hits. Tough players win!!
How do you act on the court? Do you run to the bench? Do you high five teammates? Do you play hard, encourage others? Do you have good body language? Or, are you an eye roller? Shoulder shrugger? Blamer? Excuse maker? Character goes a long way toward making a lasting impression!
Your culture isn’t what you hope it is or say it is. Your culture is what you create and allow each day through the way you work, the behaviors you reward, how you speak to people, how/why you make decisions, how you spend your time.
Create your culture on purpose.
Love the eye contact & engagement Jordan Poole is giving Coach Kerr here.
Giving eye contact, and listening intentionally have an unlimited upside for a team.
Coaches/teams have to have energy & enthusiasm! Whether it’s practices, workouts or games, the energy you start with fuels the entire event. Enthusiasm is contagious! It improves performance, drives achievement & changes outcomes! It fosters camaraderie & success! Energy matters!
