Got to be a good omen for tomorrow boys! Walking around Market Square and ran into Coach Vitello. Hated to bother him but Knox wanted a picture so bad. Has to mean a win tomorrow, right? @MattDixon3@ReedCarringer
@NashvilleLee1 You can tell how we are going to hit by the numbers of baseballs hit to the opposite field. Everything is dead pull and opening hips and shoulders. Chapman HR was oppo. Base hits yesterday were oppo. 100% right on the approaches. Why change if you were VCU. ECU gave the blueprint
@NashvilleLee1 Vols struck out on 45% of at bats this weekend. Hit 5% with runners in scoring position. Just all-time bad. If you cut those strikeout numbers by 10% and increases your scoring position numbers, you are getting ready to play the winners bracket game or at least the game tomorrow
@benmckee14 Refusing to hit the ball to the opposite field is killing this team. Chapmans homer was oppo. Wright’s hit was a single on the right side. The approach has to change.
@NashvilleLee1 Throwing Haas out there like it was a Sunday game when the series had been decided got me. Vols just seemed to play like there was a tomorrow (I get there is, but not really lol)
@benmckee14 would be interested to see the thought process behind the pinch running today and your thoughts? We seemed to take hitters out of the lineup when we obviously weren’t capitalizing with runners in scoring position. ECU held true to their hitters.
@zachTNT Tennessee made it a great game. If they just score one of the runners in the last 5 innings with less than 2 outs in scoring position, the game never gets to 14.
Terrible weather. Terrible game. But it was great seeing @benmckee14 and getting to talk to him on the walk-in to the ballpark. Hopefully tomorrow goes better, and they figure out how to right the ship the next 7 SEC games.
@vaughtsviews Ended up being a pretty good event and loaded with talent.
Stokes, Holloway (Alabama), Nwoko (LSU and in the portal), and Trey Green (Started at Saint Louis) were all that Prolific Prep team (plus several other D1 players).
Was great talent for the local community to see
@kerrywilliams_ You quit once Johnson got tossed on that horrible 3rd strike call. Ardvison laughing on the mound after it. Just absolutely ridiculous performance in the 9th inning on (per usual this season)
@2ndChancePoints It is a moot point at this juncture. Vols with one of their patent scoring droughts. Michigan too good for that. Keep up the great work, Jim
@2ndChancePoints I will agree Mara and Johnson both have 2. Whistle has been happy. But you can say the same thing about the obvious miss on Gayle’s goaltending too. Having to play Okpara with 2 and then Browns foul being changed is the chefs kiss
@samurai_hoops Schertz is coming to Tennessee when Barnes is done. He is getting Gainey the job, so there isn’t a succession plan with a Barnes staff member
