You think we don’t know ball? Thankfully, A’ja Wilson taught us. She is the first player, in WNBA or NBA history, to win a championship, claim the scoring title, and be named Finals MVP, league MVP, and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season. Wilson is a TIME100 Sports honoree, among 99 others shaping sports today. See who else made the list: https://t.co/rpuF6sN7pB
I hope that people don’t take what @NaLyssaSmith does for us for granted. She’s truly our glue… She does all the little things that help us get extra possessions. Anything that we need, Lyss is constantly there. I’m very proud of [her] work. — @_ajawilson22
Overprotected kids become unprepared adults.
Dawn Staley nailed it.🔥
You can’t shelter your child from every hard moment and then expect them to handle adversity when it counts.
Hard is the lesson.

Courtney Williams on hard it was to learn to play point guard after being a 2 guard her whole like
“Overly hard(laughing) like you damn near got to take the back seat to yourself. Like I would have let that thing fly all the time, imma just be honest because at the 1 spot you have the ball in your hand so much, like I come down and I’m like I could shoot this ball every time if I wanted to, but I can’t… like at the 1 spot you need to play make and facilitate and then it’s about your shot, at the 2 and the 3 it’s like go score. So yeah, it was hard(smiles)”
Athletic culture has the expectation that after a mistake, we wait for teammates or coaches to build us back up.
What if we flipped that?
If you want something to change, you need something to change.
Everybody wanna be SEEN…
but don’t wanna be DISCIPLINED 😤
Late. Lazy. Emotional.
Then wondering why nobody calling 📵
Your STANDARD is your resume 💼
Coaches don’t guess… they WATCH 👀
NIL $ is cool. Transferring is a part of the game. Agents are great
But work on your craft. Listen to experienced people. Get away from yes men & women. Take care of your body.
Or college is going to be your stop sign and for a lot of talented athletes, it doesn’t have to be
Everybody talks about winning but nobody defines it.
Winning isn’t just the scoreboard.
Sometimes winning is who you keep around you.
Sometimes winning is who you walk away from.
Sometimes winning is having people in your life who tell you the truth… not what you want to hear.
Everybody ain't You! Stop thinking they should think act & feel like u because they won't. You are unique and God has his hands on you. They are their own entity with the freedom they chose. Take care of u and keep it moving. #CoachPrime
Dawn Staley shares the question every recruit should ask and almost none of them do.
"Everybody's good on the good days. It is who you can trust, who you can talk to and communicate with on your worst day."
Then she explained what she tells every recruit:
"We're gonna make you feel good during the recruiting process. You're gonna come here, we're gonna roll out the red carpet, we're gonna give you our best. Everybody's gonna do that."
Every program shows you their best - that's the easy part. But it comes down to trust.
"I want you to think about if it's 2 or 3 years down the line, when you in a slump, or when you lost a parent, or you broke up with a boyfriend, or whatever - Who's gonna get you back on course to be your talented self?"
That's the real question. Not who recruits you the hardest, but who do you trust? And who do you believe will commit to you and your future?
Everyone looks good when things are easy.
The real test is who shows up when things get hard.
