Beyond blessed to receive my first offer from the University of Kentucky! Thank you to @CoachBateman for this opportunity. Also, a huge thanks to my coach @rirby18#GoCats#BBN#SEC
Wide Receivers, ask yourself: can you get off press coverage? Do you have the speed to threaten a DB’s leverage when they’re playing off? Do you understand the game well enough to find the open hole in the zone coverage and settle? Can you create separation in your routes?
And when the ball comes your way, can you catch it consistently? Are you a hands catcher? What about after the catch, do you have the juice to make defenders miss and get to the end zone? When you’re not getting the ball, are you unselfish? Do you take pride in blocking?
These are the questions that matter. Be honest with yourself, and let your answers guide how you train and improve every day. #letsgo
Being coachable means you're willing to consider feedback even if you don't like what you hear. It means resisting the urge to make excuses or get defensive when challenged. Getting better is more important than your ego. You'd rather get it right than be right.
The Recruiting Big 3:
1. Gametape - What are your measureables? What do you do on film w/ real stakes?
2. Transcript - What is your unweighted core GPA? Do you take hard classes? What's your SAT/ACT?
3. Character - Are you a great teammate? Are you a great student? Citizen?
Dear Athletes,
Stop DM’ing me “yooooo.”
If you’re serious about playing at the next level, communicate like it.
College coaches don’t respond to “yo coach what’s good”.
They respond to:
Name
Position
Grad Year
Height / Weight
GPA

This is recruiting, not a group chat.
Presentation matters.
Details matter.
Professionalism matters.
If you can’t introduce yourself correctly in a message, you’re already behind.

At the @UBFootball Pro Day, All-American linebacker Red Murdock (@redmurdock2) ran an unofficial 4.67 in the 40-yard dash. The nation’s runner-up in tackles in 2024 (156) finished with the third most in 2025 (142). He racked up 22 bench reps which would be the third highest at the NFL Combine by a linebacker. During his time at Buffalo, he set the NCAA career record for forced fumbles with 17, breaking former UB great Khalil Mack’s (2010-13) record. Red’s given name is Khalil. @SalSports@WGR550
High school players and parents… here’s the reality of recruiting.
College coaches evaluate size first. Height, weight, and frame matter at every level of college football.
Start by being honest and set realistic expectations about where you fit.
If you meet the size standards, you still have to produce.
Big players are everywhere. Coaches recruit the ones who can run, think, compete, and make plays on film.
If you don’t meet the size standards, you must bring something extra.
Elite speed. High football IQ. Toughness. Playmaking ability.
Know where you stand.
Set realistic expectations.
Then go to work.
