Here is why baseball is different than other college sports re taunting and excessive celebration.

The opposing team in college football and basketball don't have a guy with a small round rock in his hand that he can throw 90 mph at the next hitter's head.

Prohibiting taunting or excessive celebration is a method of protecting the next batter coming to the plate.
