I studied 200 DMs from entrepreneurs who weren't closing,
Every single one made the same mistake,
I made it too,
Here's what we were all doing wrong and how to fix it
A thread π§΅π.
@copyadvocate This has become rampant if you observe well,
So many, especially new founders are building and growing what feels good but not needed.
When the foundation is built on what's not needed, you can build for long and still end up with zero..
I watched a creator delete his account after 2 years of zero income.
What hurt me was the creator is talented just like many others.
Posted great content, put real effort and still strong passion in all he do,
The real problem starts when nobody was paying him,
So I asked him one question before he left:
"Were you creating for people to enjoy, or for people to need you?"
He went quiet, I nod my head because I got the answer even if he didn't talk again,
Sadly, that's the reality of so many creators not only on X,
That silence told me everything.
There are always two types of creators on this app:
The ones building an audience and the ones building an income.
Same platform, same effort, same niche, sometimes together with a touch of great passion
But different question, thats just the gap,
Other creators asks: "Will they like this?"
While business owner asks: "Will this make them need me?"
The one who leave after creating for two years was creating to be liked,
His content was good enough to pay his rent,
He just never knew how to make it do that.
I think about him every time I create content now.
Because talent without the right question is just a beautiful waste of time.
The change comes when you stop creating to be liked and start creating to be needed,
The income follows.
Where do you stands at the moment?

Writing was always a struggle for me.
I never enjoyed English classes.
Less than average in my class.
Fast forward a few years.

Sometimes I wonder,
Should the educational system be rewritten to accommodate real-world skills?
