@JeffreyParson My understanding is this is because 5a/6a attendance is down.. Fine.. Don’t mess up 1a-4a.. Kids dream about making it to state and playing at Hutch or Kstate etc. Now you make it to state and don’t even get the experience of playing at the state location unless you win a game!
@sportsinkansas The Halstead girls! Somehow the defending state champs are still an under the radar team! They are 24-0, have won 36 consecutive games, & 49 of their last 50! They are one of the best defensive teams in the state all classes! 5 starters who can score 20 any given night! #Dragons

The Halstead Dragons enter the postseason ranked #3 in Class 3A with an impressive 30-5 record. The Dragons tied for 1st in the CKL and have picked up tournament titles this season at both the Marion Spikefest and Hillsboro Trojan Classic.
Halstead now turns its focus to regionals on Monday, with the chance to host substate on its home court — a huge opportunity in front of the hometown crowd. Dominique Schutte of Sports in Kansas caught up with seniors Katharine Engel and Daynica Euwer, juniors Bailey Bernal and Jordy Schroeder, and Head Coach and 2024 3A Coach of the Year Diana Schutte to talk about the Dragons’ momentum and postseason mindset. We will hear from them later tonight. #sportsinkansas
