Deep down, you can tell he's a genuinely good fella. The way he handled everything that happened off the pitch during the summer was excellent, and that first season was unbelievable. It's sad how it all ended, but he'll always be remembered for delivering that league title.
Once again wondering why a sporting director who has reportedly already lined up another job is the one in charge of making the decision on the coach's future
I think you can simultaneously be generally pro patience with managers but also find it astounding that Liverpool might not consider appointing Xabi Alonso - who seems to want the job - in favour of risking this dirge continuing next season under Arne Slot.
He’s got to go. And it’s only about 20% down to the performances. It’s the things leaving his mouth every time he opens it that’s really done it for him. Sounds less and less like the man for the job every time he speaks.
They'll try and blame injuries and pretend the result would have been different if we'd had Isak, Salah, Ekitike or Alisson.
Same as pretending we'll be any different with Diomande and Wharton next season. Nothing is changing when the system is fundamentally atrocious.
Same shit tactics.
Same mistakes.
Same poor performances.
Same excuses.
No proper coaching.
No confidence in the team or the manager.
Fans unrest.
FSG: “Let’s give Arne Slot another season!” 🤡
Standards and the culture of the club are in the drains and yet somehow the person in charge of it all has the best job security in the sport. Just great stuff from the smartest operators in world football.
Shocking the way this has gone with the old guard. They’ve not been the problem this year yet they’re the ones biting the bullet and being shown the door
If Alonso was allowed to come in 2 months ago when pathetic Slot should have been sacked, we would have had Salah, Robertson and Alisson as essential parts of our squad next season.
Now, we’ll go into the new season without them, their experience and winning mentalities.
Mad.
i find it bizarre how hughes/edwards are nuking our squad and making all the important decisions regarding the future of the club when it’s well known they’re both pissing off in a years time anyway
This would be an absolute travesty by the way, losing not only a home grown lad, but our second best midfielder and comfortably our best ball progressor because the manager blindly insisted on crooked Mac Allister and a poor Gravenberch
I hope something changes and we can convince him to stay, because he will be incredibly hard to replace in multiple ways, despite what certain people would have you thinking
This would be a terrible decision by the club. He’s one of the few players who’s been honest this season, openly admitting that it's been crap. On top of that, he’s a very good footballer. And cliché or not, you need a Scouser in the team who knows what it means to play for us.
