If the AFL industry was really focused on accountability, the five players at the centre of the sexual assault of a woman in Melbourne this week would not be in the running for any awards.

Heeney is the key focus of sex crimes detectives, who have taken statements from the victim and her two female colleagues. Victoria Police has sent the officers to Sydney to interview the men involved.
All five men have been suspended for the rest of the season but they are still allowed to attend the club.
Allowing Heeney, Warner and Blakey to remain in contention for the Brownlow Medal - or any other gong - reveals how hard it is for footballers to be held to full account for their actions.
