Crazy activist, current plant based chef, former comic, animal lover, & Twitter enthusiast. Talk to me! That's what I'm here for! π Oh & True Blue π Chabad π
"Criminals will get guns anyway" is not an argument. It is an exit.
Apply it anywhere else: drunk drivers will drink anyway, so why DUI laws. Robbers will rob anyway, so why locks.
Every law is a probability play. The exception on guns is political.
Please read my latest update & help if you can. π I'm facing a heavy load this week. We've added a hepatologist to the team. I had to spend last night at hospital. After going thru a procedure in the morning. I'm exhausted & going thru high anxiety.

Itβs not rocket science; they wouldnβt be trying this damn hard to suppress votes and disenfranchise people if it didnβt matter so much.
I'm curious how many of the people arguing strongly against social security payments to boomers being honored are going to the polls and voting for candidates who vow to cut the government, to actually reduce spending rather than just slow it's growth, to fight against the trend toward more socialism?
Or, is it just the older generation they hate, but not socialism itself?
This is a great question someone posed. Thoughts?
CAN SOMEONE WALK ME THROUGH HOW THIS MAKES SENSE
By the time I retire at 67, I'll have paid roughly $540,000 into Social Security between my contributions and my employer's match.
If that same money had just sat in an index fund averaging 7%, it would be worth about $2.4M. The dividends alone off that would be $168,000 a year.
Instead, the government is projecting I'll get $2,950 a month at 67. That's about $35,400 a year.
Someone explain the gap between those two numbers, because I genuinely don't understand where the rest of it goes.
Years ago, when I used to go into the Miami jails to do sanity and competency evaluations of prisoners, I learned to keep my feet moving at all times to make it harder for the roaches to run over my shoes and up under the legs of my pants.
Not a place for the faint of heart.
