Coco Gauff: "I'm not going to apologise for the way that my hair looks because there are other girls who have the exact same hair as me.
"My hair was good enough for a high fashionable brand like Miu Miu. If my hair is good enough for that, then yours is too."
Right on! 👏🏾👏🏾
Can we PLEASE normalize putting summaries on the back of books again instead of reviews? I just genuinely want to know what the book is about before picking it up.

This is Linda Davis, a special education teacher who was killed in a car crash involving ICE agents
The agents didn’t render aid.

They didn’t offer aid to Renee Good or Alex Pretti either.
Say her name too.
February 7, 1987 — Today would have Sandra Bland’s 39th Birthday. (RIP)
Sandra Bland was a civil rights activist and outspoken advocate who used her voice to speak about racial injustice, inequality, and the everyday experiences of Black Americans. She believed in civic engagement, community organizing, and the importance of holding institutions accountable.
In July 2015, Sandra Bland was arrested during a traffic stop in Texas and later died while in custody. Her death sparked national and international conversations about policing, jail conditions, and the treatment of Black women in the criminal justice system. Those conversations continue today.
Remembering Sandra Bland is not about reducing her life to the circumstances of her death. It is about recognizing who she was while she was alive—a young woman with opinions, plans, humor, and purpose. Someone who expected to live a full life, not become a symbol.
Today marks what would have been Trayvon Martin’s 31st birthday. We remember his life and renew our commitment to justice, dignity, and a future where every child is safe and valued and where Black Lives Matter (as much to some and at all to others). We are praying for Trayvon’s parents.

Fred Hampton 1969: chairman of the black panther party was killed in his home by 14 FBI agents as part of cointelpro. Spurgen Winter Jr was also killed in this shooting. When they thought fred would survive they shot him two more times in the head at point blank range. They also tried to charge the other 7 panthers for attempted murder in the shootout. Those charges didnt stick. They shot 90+ times into the house with only one shot from black panthers coming from a misfired gun. They also Fred’s pregnant wife who survived along with her child. Agents weren’t charged.
Crazy right? Almost like it’s been happening for decades huh?
