This is such a big season for Eberechi Eze, most people are past the honeymoon phase with him and demand we see performances now.

He’s 28 y/o now, in the peak of his career, it’s time we see him cement himself as the player we know he can be. There’s an opening at the LW slot, go on and capitalise on that.

Not sure why people are so agitated. 5 days of window to go, no takers because of his £Wages. Terminated contract has saved us circa £5m if he had stayed. Club has been fair and so has he.
Maybe we could have got a couple of £M but they just calculated risk/reward

Aston Villa and Newcastle fans will cry about PSR, then when they finally have money to spend, one decides to spend £115m on Jackson and Garnacho, basically all the money they made from the Rogers sale, while the other spent £200m on Woltemade, Elanga, Wissa and Jacob Ramsey.

PSR is only an issue for clubs that aren’t smart with their resources while failing to generate enough revenue.

Chelsea offered £117m for Rogers in an owner-to-owner deal.

Two days later, Aston Villa signed Garnacho from Chelsea on a four-year deal, with an obligation to buy set at £42.67m.

Villa added Nico Jackson today for £47.5m plus £17.5m in add-ons (£65m total).

That puts Villa's net take-home on Morgan Rogers at £9.33m, and that's before factoring in Boro's 20% sell-on clause. Off a £117m fee, that's £23.4m.

All that 'new market rate' nonsense we had to listen to. It's a mates' rate market in 2026; don't believe anything until you see the full shape of the transfer window.
