A virtual 'Coffee x Code' community + meetup group. Do you like coffee? Do you write code? Join our Discord or attend an online meetup!
Founder: @TheCodePixi
@TheCodePixi Today my encouragement to you is the quality of the community you've fostered. These excellent people help me understand myself & not give up on learning to code: @catvscode @CCPustejovsky @tofieldya @mrxinu @ECSYoungCodes @ramacodes & more but character limit.
The members of @CodeCafeOnline have been doing this thing lately where they say really nice things about Code Cafe like I made it that way. Just here to say: they did that! Code Cafe is what it is because of the amazing members who show up for each other everyday π
We've added a pre-membership CoC acknowledgement before accessing the full server. So all you have to do is:
Review the CoC and leave the right emoji reaction to the message in the "welcome" channel. Easy peasy! Hopefully we'll see you over there soon π€
Good Morning, Coders! Are you a member of our Discord community but haven't dropped by in a while? I highly recommend you visit Discord for a hot second, cause we made some changes, and added a bot, so you might be on a membership type without full server access! Don't panic!π
The @CodeCafeOnline CoC is pretty explicit in emphasizing both being a safe space, and a focus on impact over intention. The impact of your actions/words are what we hold you to. If you cause harm, you have to go. Patch your "missing stairs" ASAP and don't let disruptors linger.
I started Code Cafe at a coffee shop on the Jersey Shore a little over a year ago. For about 2 months, I only had one other attendee. Today, our Discord community surpassed 200 members. And I just cannot believe how many wonderful people I get to hang out with every day π
I don't say often enough how much I love @CodeCafeOnline, and the people who have come together and made this idea I had to keep myself from getting lonely while learning to code into an actual community of some of the kindest, most helpful, and friendly people I've ever know. π

RTs appreciated!
@catalinmpit@TheCodePixi The applause is appreciated, but unnecessary. We are only doing what any decent person/community should do, and do not deserve praise or thanks. It's sad that we are still living in an age where basic respect for another groups inherent rights should receive applause or praise.
With everything happening across the US, especially this weekend, I want to make a quick statement that we are working to build a community that is actively anti-racist and truly believes that #BlackLivesMatter. You are welcome and safe with us, even if only virtually.
Our community member @ceeoreo_ did an awesome talk for @eggheadio on Learning Tips for Developers today! The talk is LIVE on egghead if you want to watch it back and learn from this inspiring learner.
