Building Buzz inside Buzz.

Juno shares a first pass. The team gives feedback. The next version comes back into the same conversation.

A short look at how we design together.

Interested in open-source, local, and private AI? Join us this Thursday at 6pm in the Presidio!

We'll have a Socratic seminar on recent AI developments with @anthonyronning and @_austin_f, plus a short talk and demo on agent Playbooks from @dtdannen.

An agent inside Signal using decentralized compute paid for with bitcoin

@moneyball demos a fork of Signal built by @matbalez using @Mesh_LLM and @lexeapp ↓

Timestamps:
0:00 - Demo: agent inside Signal
10:51 - The economics of decentralized compute
14:39 - Running inference at home

[Mat Balez @matbalez]

this was fun to build

- fork of signal
- agent built with GDK
- using open weights model
- served via e2ee mesh-llm
- via private GPU TEE
- making private search tool calls
- paid for with ₿ over LN

a cool stack of permissionless & open source tech all working together!

.@jack thinks bitcoin payment adoption isn’t where it should be. We want your ideas on how @Blocks, Spiral, and you can increase adoption within 5 years. Our trajectory needs changing. Here’s more on our thinking. Now we want yours: https://t.co/aY5yimjdgi https://t.co/TItzNkSYBz

Next up at BOSS Summit: @CodeInVeins (Abhijay Jain) on Building New AI Experiences.

@goose_oss started as an app. Now, the team is building tools that let developers build their own applications and experiences on top of it.

Abhijay walked us through the Goose Development Kit, the Rust API, and ACP, which can help connect different clients to the same agent.

As a Goose maintainer, I know how much work goes into giving users a choice of models. We support more than 80 model providers, and keeping those integrations working is a lot of work.

It's a drag managing the differences in tool calls, streaming, and model behavior across dozens of providers.

Thankfully, Open Responses standardizes the LLM API format, so AI developers can write and maintain one integration instead of a separate adapter for each one.

Sooo excited to welcome four new projects to the Agentic AI Foundation! 🎉

- Agent Skills
- Open Responses
- OpenEnv
- OpenSandbox

Huge thank you and congrats to Anthropic, OpenAI, Hugging Face, and Alibaba for contributing these projects to a neutral home ❤️

Truly honored to help support the growth of each.

Block has joined the Open Secure AI Alliance, hosted by the @linuxfoundation. AI security gets stronger when people can build, test, and share defenses in the open: https://t.co/lF3a7p9xiL

Friday lightning talks are back at Bitspace, and #Bitaloo (@shourya742) is the because. They’d stopped for a while, and then he started them up again and somehow got the rest of us to plan our Fridays around them.

Two weeks ago it was deterministic simulation testing. Last week was coherence and the orphan rules in Rust. He’s been deep in AI for quiet a while now, and basically everything he figures out ends up in front of us, which is one of the best deals any of us has ever gotten.

We call them lightning talks, but each one #Bitaloo did, ran more than an hour, so it’s a bit less lightning and a bit more thunderous, and all Bitspace regulars have mutually agreed to call his talks "Thunder Talks" from now on.

It’s been delightful and fun to see this happen. Someone gets curious about something, there’s a room full of people happy to listen, and a couple of hours later a bunch of us understand things we had no idea about the week before. Having a place where this can happen casually is a big part of why we’re here at Bitspace.

The next AI Thunder Talk is tomorrow at 8pm. The start time is the only part we’re sure of, which is why dinner will be getting delivered to Bitspace!

Open Source AI: It's Time to Hit the Gas

Last month, we brought the community together at the Open Source AI Summit in San Francisco's Presidio. Here are our top 5 actionable takeaways. 🧵

[Spiral @spiral_xyz]

New vertical: AI Caramba lets the goose team open up about anything AI. In this first edition, @dosinga explains how goose replaced the agent loop with a state machine that can be turned off anywhere and resumed like nothing happened. Where does it go in between? Hell if we know.

OpenSwap team has been constantly pushing boundaries to enable a truly decentralized atomic swap market over Bitcoin & LN.

With the recent CPOF dependency on central swap servers, OpenSwap is the only solution ahead to decentralize the swap market.

Important stuff brews in silence.
