Sick of waiting for ESPN to load on your phone? I made a site that shows live NBA games, boxscores and play-by-play in plain text and loads instantly. No frills, and no waiting, just plain text sports: https://t.co/z9OVTG0rXs
That Tunisia–Japan game started yesterday on the west coast, gotta consider timezones.
(@PlainTextSports had the same bug until last week; the NCAA has the same issue with games in Hawaii.)
Hey, @NBA, the play-by-play data on your new website doesn't report when players sub in and out between quarters. (This also affects the @WNBA since it looks like you updated the website earlier this week.)
Today's slate of World Cup games:
Group H: Spain vs. Cape Verde (live!)
Group G: Belgium vs. Egypt (3pm ET)
Group H: Saudi Arabia vs. Uruguay (6pm ET)
Group G: Iran vs. New Zealand (9pm ET)
It looks the same as all the rest of these that I post, but this one was made in the new templated ASCII art editor I had Claude make this weekend and will be using for the World Cup.
@willmcgugan@claudeai If a line wraps onto multiple lines, but the beginning is off the top of the screen, what do you do in that case? Do you still show the line number? Is there any indication there's more to the line that's not visible? (Same goes for the bottom of the screen too.)
@CRCampana This code is almost five years old. I don't know why I decided to just show the bench there, but I've updated it to just show the likely lineup (and removed the bullpen section).
The TBS broadcast after the end of the championship game was awful, taking nearly 30 seconds to show the Michigan players celebrating, instead showing coaches shaking hands and fans not even in the stadium.
NYT is even getting on it, with this weird photo highlighting a referee?
Now that we have ABS, can we get rid of the strike zone overlay so we can appreciate how impossible it is to tell if something is a strike? Only show it on replay if it was close.
Sorry about the PTS outage today. I added a message at the top that will appear if a page hasn't been updated for 2+ hours. Hopefully Twitter works better, since my Rollbar free tier email notifications don't work properly.
Hm, this is still wrong. I thought the next tiebreak after "runs allowed/out in common games" was "runs allowed/out in all games", but it switches to "earned runs allowed/out in common games".
I could lookup the number of earned runs, but that's annoying...
I thought I could get away with just counting innings played for the "runs allowed" tiebreaker in the World Baseball Classic, but I had to update it to actually calculate defensive outs recorded to correctly handle the three team tie in Pool C.
