Gemma 4 just hit 200M downloads in only 2.5 months!
For context, total downloads across the entire Gemma family of models were at 100M when we launched Gemma 3. The community's acceleration is incredible. Thank you to everyone building with Gemma.
Watch how developers are driving real-world impact:
Meet LFG 1 (Listening Fusion Gemma)!
Speech-to-Text pipelines strip away the soul of a conversation... the pacing, the pauses, the tone.
I wanted to see if I could give AI the ability to listen.
So I built one at my house, here is what LFG-1 does: 👇
Meet Gemma 4 12B!
A unified, encoder-free multimodal model designed to bring high-performance intelligence directly to your laptop, and released under an Apache 2.0 license.
Bridging the gap between edge efficiency and advanced reasoning. Here is what’s new with Gemma 4 12B: 👇
Last week we went out into the wilderness, far from any cell service or Wi-Fi, to test an experimental Gemma 4 app, all 100% offline:
🔍Visual understanding
🧠Math reasoning
🛠️Tool use and more
Running seamlessly on Pixel hardware and paired with our prototype display glasses.
What does it take to run 3, 5, or even 10 concurrent instances of Gemma 4 locally?
We've open-sourced a demo letting you run multiple models side-by-side on your hardware.
Gemma 4 26B A4B easily runs 10+ concurrent requests on a MacBook Pro M4 Max at 18 tokens/sec per request.
Check out this video on how to run Gemma 4 locally on an iPhone!
It runs completely offline and handles long context, meaning no data plan, no API calls, and no monthly fees required.
We are in the era of local AI orchestration
Gemma 4 evaluates a scene, reasons about what to ask, and calls a segmentation model to execute the vision tasks:
🚗 "Segment all vehicles." ➔ 64 found
🚙 "Now just the white ones." ➔ 23 found
All happening offline on a laptop.
Gemma 4 has already been downloaded over 10 million times, with over 1,000 variants published by the community!

🤯 GEMMA 4 + OPUS 4.6 REASONING DROPPED
@kaiostephens goal: produce a Gemma 4-31B reasoning adapter trained only on Opus reasoning 🧠
What the model is:
🧬 Tiny QLoRA adapter on Gemma 4 31B-it
📊 Fine-tuned on ~1,900 curated Opus Examples
⚡ Trained in ~1 hour on a single GH200 GPU
📖 Fully open Apache 2.0
What it does:
✨ Boosts overall quality, coherence, and personality
🧮 Stronger math, code, and Opus problem solving
💬 More refined, thoughtful responses
🏠 Built for local agents, workflows, and heavy daily
Vs base Gemma 4 31B:
📐 Same efficient base model, no extra size or speed
📈 Noticeable step up in real-world depth and quality
💪 Base was already strong this levels It up!

Gemma 4 just pushed Google AI Edge Gallery to #8 on the App Store Productivity charts, ranking above Microsoft Copilot! 📈
Want to run our newest open models fully offline & natively on-device? This is the absolute best place to test them.
Tried it yet? 👇📱
It’s happened.
Mac Studio is here. Gemma 4 31b @GoogleDeepMind installed, chatting with my main @openclaw for $0 in token expenses now...
I've burned $5-6k on tokens on my crazy ideas over past few months, so this mac studio should pencil out for me within 3 months or so 🤓
Who wants to know how Gemma 4 works?
This visual guide breaks down the new architectures and how they process text, images, and (for the smaller models) audio.

Thanks for following us!
We're excited to see what you all build with Gemma 4!
In case you missed it, you can find all our checkpoints, with an Apache 2.0 License, on Hugging Face:
@josiezayner I’d say because I use AI to move much faster and check it‘s work to ensure it is accurate. Most people wouldn’t know if it was hallucinating or not. A computation biologist could check.
