Beyond the code, an engineer needs to understand infrastructure. I’m officially moving my personal project ecosystem off temporary local setups and onto a dedicated production environment. I just spun up a Contabo VPS cluster to serve as the new deployment backbone for everything I'm building this year. Setting up a bare-metal server requires making a few key architectural choices. To manage my applications efficiently without the massive overhead costs of AWS, I'm using Dokploy alongside Traefik for reverse-proxy routing and automatic SSL mapping.
