Big news! 🚀 The Fair Payment Code is here to boost transparency and fairness in B2B transactions, replacing the old Prompt Payment Code.
Run by the @SB_Commissioner, this Code awards businesses in tiers based on how quickly they pay suppliers.

"The theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is Movement. Movement is good for improving mental health and most of us to need to get up and move around more. I want to see another movement too. The Movement for Fair Payments. That will help improve the mental health of small business owners too."

It's not often you get a business owner willing to talk about how it all went wrong, despite everyone's best efforts. It's always down to cashflow but it can take a whole series of events to lead up to the crunch. There can be various points at which outside help could save the day. Great session this morning at @UK_CW week with Iain Mcilwee FIS, Tom Ahmad IP and construction entrepreneur Paul Gaughan dissecting all of that.
In the last week, over 20 businesses and organisations joined the Prompt Payment Code. They include:
👥@Cranstoun_org
💡@YESEnergyS

Last month we continued to receive complaints from the care sector. In one particular case we were able to negotiate a payment plan by mediating with the parties involved. The first installment of the agreed payment plan has been paid and the small business is pleased with the outcome.
