Code Writer is a free text and code editing app by @Actipro, found in the Windows Store. Use its minimalist touch-friendly design as a replacement for Notepad.
@ayamadori The app currently supports protocol activation (described in docs) but otherwise nothing specific for command line activation since it's not a CL app. Probably won't request broadFileSystemAccess since the Store gets very critical of why it's needed and may get rejected.
@DanielSMediaTe1 We’re glad you like the editor app. Sorry, no immediate plans for that file type. It’s not one we are familiar with. I’ll write down your request for it.
@lukyt9 If you mean you're looking for compiler errors, I'm sorry but Code Writer doesn't have a compiler built-in. It's more like a lightweight Notepad script editor with many nice features.
Code Writer v4.0 is slowly rolling out to the Microsoft Store now. This is a huge update for the code editor component, with a lot of new features and performance improvements. See our blog post for the update details.

The Code Writer v4.0 beta is now being deployed to anyone signed up on our beta tester list. It might take a few hours for it to be published to you. You can check your version from the Help tab. If you see v4.0 listed, click the Release History link to see all the new features.
@petroemil I believe we might already have you on the beta list but please DM us your Microsoft account e-mail anyhow so we can verify. We had DMs off in settings before and just reactivated them. Thanks!
Great news, we're getting close to finishing off Code Writer v4.0! The new version has tons of new features like massive editor performance increases, better scrolling, zooming, multiple carets, and much more. We are going to be looking for beta testers. Please DM us to sign up.
Sorry, we realized we had direct messages from non-followers turned off in Twitter. It's on now, please try again and send us your Microsoft account e-mail address so we can add you to the beta tester list.
@alex_anenkov Our major updates to the code editing control that will use Direct2D for rendering (thereby improving editing/scrolling speed immensely) will likely be part of a v4.0.
Code Writer v3.3 has been released, featuring new document name collision avoidance, retention of copied clipboard text after app close, and more.

@McAkins Thanks! This is a relatively minor update but there should be a lot of goodness added in the coming months when our massively upgraded code editor control is ready to put into Code Writer. It will make editing and scrolling a LOT faster.
@GramaStefanluca I'm sorry but due to it being a Universal Windows app, it's sandboxed by Windows and can't run external applications. Please see the documentation included in the app for mention of this.
