Syrian, Arab Almosto, has been refused bail after appearing in Belfast Magistrates’ Court charged with raping and sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.

He is accused of meeting the girl in Belfast city centre on 25 May this year while she was drunk, offering to help her, and taking her back to a HMO.

Once there, he allegedly took her to a bedroom, got on the bed and raped and sexually assaulted her while she “froze” and later managed to escape.

Almosto left the country two days later but returned voluntarily and was arrested.
