Im going to do what women dont do that much, and admit when im wrong. Alot of your talking points is true i was talking about some of it without researching the evidence.

My point is that there’s an obvious double standard if simply thirsting over an attractive female character is treated as inherently bad while doing the same thing with an attractive male character is treated as harmless fun.

So plenty of males/men thirsted for Leon, including straight men joking about how attractive he is. Like okay, I don’t argue against that at all. I just don’t see evidence that women generally don’t care about attractive male characters.

Didnt Capcom’s own director idk his name, didn’t he talk about how women on the development team were especially particular about making older Leon attractive?? Even scrutinizing details like the wrinkles on his neck and mentioned women responding positively to it??? I remember seeing some post about that.

Look I do care about how men and women look in video game. It’s all fantasy. I don’t play dnd to roleplay as a character who can’t walk. I roleplay as a 12ft giant who only speaks 3 words.

At the end of the day it doesn’t matter what I say. I just wanted to get this off my chest.

Devs I think you know what you need to do now. Make every male character super ugly, I call for gender equality. It’s no fair you only make women ugly, I want the men to be ugly too. That way performative women get a taste of their own medicine.

I legit endured "conversations" with men up until very recently telling me they feel negative towards any game featuring a female "ugly" (tldr that they won't goon on) protagonist and boycot any franchise pushing forward a non male main character, or being inclusive during character creation/setting up the universe (e.g. God of War, The Witcher IV, CB 2077...).
These men do believe in a "woke lobby" taking over the video game industry. Immediately calling you a hysteric unable to debate if you happen to be a woman expressing your disapproval of what they call a reasonable "opinion".
Sexism is impacting women IRL but the amount of bullshit I've heard in the gaming world can sometimes make you really wonder wtf is actually going on in some people's heads.

I wish we saw more data on other systems.

I know why we can’t or won’t. But we used to be able to see how many were playing specific gamemodes on CoD and Halo. Now they hide it. People hide what they are afraid people will see.

I like seeing data. That’s why I like steam charts. I will always see a game doing good on steam and then I’ll add that game to my wishlist.
