This stunning night time aerial shot captures Lumley Castle in all its dramatic glory!
The historic stone fortress glows warmly against the dark sky, with its towering turrets, battlements, and sturdy walls illuminated by spotlights that highlight every crenellation and arched window.
The castle sits proudly on a hillside in Co. Durham, surrounded by shadowy parkland and trees, with the faint glow of distant town lights on the horizon creating a magical, almost timeless atmosphere.
It's a perfect blend of medieval grandeur and eerie night time beauty.

Fair point, no one's saying parenting has been flawless the last decade, and the harms are real (mental health stats don't lie).
But 'parents aren't perfect enough so hand the reins to Westminster' is a dangerous leap. We've trusted families for generations with far bigger things, i.e. what kids eat, when they sleep, who they spend time with, what books/TV they consume.
Sometimes they mess up, we don't nationalise dinner or bedtime as a result. The government's job is to force Big Tech to implement proper, effective age verification + parental consent tools (which Ofcom is already pushing under the Online Safety Act), so no under-16 can sign up without mam/dad knowing and approving... not a blanket ban that overrides every parent who judges their 13/14/15 year old mature enough for supervised/discussion based use, or who relies on it for school groups, family chats, or even homework research.
Once we say 'society knows best because some parents fail', where's the line? Junk food? Sports? Friendships?
@mikeerwydd1968 lol this made me chuckle, love it. Have a wonderful Christmas mike, you were recommended on my wall for some reason and im glad, you cheered me up lol.
As we approach the end of 2025 I regret not being as active as I'd planned - between health issues and life's unexpected twists, it's been a tough stretch but I'm on the mend and truly appreciate all of you - looking forward to reconnecting more actively next year!
