Due to the Australian Government I can't see any posts on twitter of a woman at the beach in a bikini without uploading my ID or verifying my age.
But I've seen several videos of people dying in gruesome deaths.
The problem with regulating A is that now B is more visible.
Who in the everloving fuck in Australia decided to make age verification mandatory to access certain websites?
What miserable failure of a parent thought they needed to police a whole country so their kid can use the internet unsupervised?
I CAN'T EVEN GO ON REDDIT FOR CATS!!!
Then you can pull up documentation and follow any leads you uncovered on your own.
Then you can look up tutorials.
Develop a good process first, then worry about learning.
The best advice I can give to beginners is open up some professional work in an field that you're learning and just inspect it.
Sit and stare at it for 10 minutes and just see what you can notice.
Any questions or answers you derive is great but be comfortable with unknowns.
This is the mindset that'll take you far in any technical field you approach and many professionals do this as a part of their national process.
Just sit, and stare, discern what you can and see if you can discover anything on your own before trying to use other resources.
Why not both?

@QuintonQinton_ No, but it does complicate the original ethos of the indie movement and show that the government is trying to establish a stronger games industry structure in Australia which if the dev operates within that structure it's hard to wear a indie label without a few asterisks.
Getting a government grant is great! I love to see businesses getting support!
However, if people are going to call it indie after that fact, that's just not realistic.
we all agree mixtape is ass, but people getting upset that they got a grant to fund it pisses me off
i used to work as a game dev in a studio here in aus, and let me tell you, almost our entire game/film/etc industry is government funded. it's awesome tbh.
pick a better fight
@terminallyOL Indie roughly means you pay for everything, own everything, publish it, basically maintaining control of everything yourself.
The point is control and revenue streams directly from consumers.
If they're paying back investors for a year they're not really independent.
