With much gratitude and excitement, I here announce that I will start my own lab @UVA Dept. of Neurosci. @uvaneuro this September! It takes a village to land a TT faculty job and thank y'all for helping me achieve this dream of mine. Look out for the Lu lab & more OPC/glia news!
@CECAD_ 🙏Thanks for all the positive feedback!
📢 Latest update:
As expected: A reduction from -80 to -70°C reduced the consumption in this specific case by ~28% (from ~13 to ~9,4 kWh per day).
So this will save ~1300 kWh per freezer per year!

We were excited to bring Science at the Market back to the Waverly 32nd Street Market last weekend! @M_f_keles led a fascinating demonstration on how the electrical signals from your own muscles can be used to control a mechanical claw! 💪⚡️ #scicomm#Baltimore
Final version of our glowscope project is now out at https://t.co/oWxCk8aUkU
The paper adds inexpensive fluorescence capability to the wonderful smartphone scopes that @ScopesWorkshop developed and tirelessly brings into classrooms and science outreach settings.
Excited to have this work from my postdoc out in print! Thanks and congrats to @AlexLassetter @aicher_sue and twitterless co-authors Jo, Amy, and Marc!
I got an absolutely gorgeous oligodendrocyte Korean flag painting from @CodyLCall for my birthday!❤💙🤍🖤 Just in time for the miraculous qualification to the round of 16 in the World Cups!🥳
My latest research is on bioRxiv now! Proud to present the amazing OPC Ca2+ dynamics in the cortex that’s not known to us till now. NE plays a surprising role in driving those beauties! Thanks @EricT_Hsu I’m also on the market now. Plz rt! #glia

Independent observations in fish, mouse & human oligodendrocytes describe an amazing method of myelination: the paranodal bridge. Fun collab with @SarahNeely18, @owengwydz, Jason Early, @lyons_lab, @AnnaWilliamsLab & Chandran lab that will make you rethink how myelination works
Oligodendrocytes form paranodal bridges that generate chains of myelin sheaths vulnerable to degeneration with age https://t.co/9FQS9ipnL3 #biorxiv_neursci
