@GAnn_5050 @nicksortor And it does not apply when there is no criminal risk. Every question did not fall within potential state-level crimes for a variety of reasons including lack of jurisdiction, "necessary and proper" under Supremacy Clause, statute of limitations, etc.

@GAnn_5050 @nicksortor Incorrect. The perjury he committed initially when he testified is within the scope of the initial pardon, meaning if he told the truth today he faced no harm. It's only perjury today if he repeated the lies or told new lies.

@GAnn_5050 @nicksortor He accepts the pardon protection or he does not. It's the legal nature of a pardon. He can't enjoy the protection from prosecution while denying the criminal action occurred. Just as claiming self-defense requires admitting to the harm before you can claim a justified defense.

@GAnn_5050 @nicksortor Pleading the 5th was not one of the two options available under the SCOTUS precedent. That's not a "trap," at least no one arguing it now thought it applied when that "trap" was used against former members of Trump's first admin.

@GAnn_5050 @nicksortor Pardon acceptance = accepting responsibility for all crimes covered. Under precedent he legally can't accept a pardon and hide behind the 5th to avoid answering for it. Fauci was legally safe if he just admitted the crimes he cannot be prosecuted for, or lie and go to jail.

@GAnn_5050 @nicksortor That's why they asked them so he had to either honestly admit to the criminal behavior he engaged in and accepted the pardon for, or he can lie and face a current contempt of congress, its a catch 22 created by the Biden Admin's attempt to circumvent justice.
