Children’s Mental Health Week!
To help us learn we need a happy and healthy mind. Go and check out and get involved in some of the fun activities planned by the Senedd.
We would love to see what you get up to this week 😊@Place2Be#childrensmentalhealthweek2021
Over 120 children had a great time yesterday at our disability sport awareness day
Lots of smiles from @CoedGlas and @roathparkprm as they enjoyed trying Paralympic sports
A big thank you to the @ArchersBasket and @cardiffmet students for all their support
💙#SchoolSport
Amazing to see @CoedGlas pupils learning about diversity and the challenges faced by those who have a disability. The children have developed an appreciation for disability sports and how anyone with a disability should have the opportunity to take part. Diolch @SportCardiff
Year 1 had an amazing day at @cardiffmet with @SportCardiff learning about different disability sports and the challenges they may face when playing sports. The coaches were fantastic and the children went away understanding the importance of inclusivity in sports. Diolch!
Year 1 were challenged to use their listening and communication skills to pass the ball to their friend in Goalball @SportCardiff @cardiffmet. The group talked about the challenges faced for those who can not see and how it’s important to use a ball with a bell for support.
Y1 using a wheelchair to play basketball. This was a favourite amongst the group, the children enjoyed learning how to dribble, pass and shoot. Later that day Y1 talked about how Roath park needs more wheelchair friendly swings and slides to make the park inclusive @SportCardiff
Thanks to Mr Cawley and his gymnastic skills Group 3&4 have developed their confidence and pushed themselves with a new skill.
Some of us can now do a front flip! @CoedglasHWB@CoedGlas@FoodandFunCdiff
Diolch to these stars (and to @DwrCymru👍) for sourcing and providing drinks bottles for our school. These wonderful year 6 pupils were determined to reduce the school's plastic consumption in their #TakeAction campaign. @CoedGlas
Congratulations to these two Yr 5 children. They have been awarded with Eco friendly 'goody bags' from the Cardiff Commitment following a 'taking action' letter they sent last month. We're so proud of you boys!
Compelling evidence of the strategic value of PE & play. It recommends schools ‘think again’ before maximising classroom time as the only strategy at this time. ‘PE lessons benefit the mind in ways children really need to do their best’. https://t.co/2CAvopeiv7
The children have taken charge of their learning over the last few weeks and explored the ocean levels in co-operative learning groups. They collected their findings using slides and presented these to the class. We learnt so much from the presentations, well done to you all!
A fun morning to end the week. Y6 have been busy developing their orienteering skills in numeracy. The class were faced with many tricky fractions but did a fantastic job.

We found so many insects and minibeasts in school this week, we used our #pupilvoice to decide, that we want to have a go at creating our own version of 'snakes and ladders'. So were getting the practice in during our #wellbeing time each morning.
