The day before our meeting, Ben had actually seen me riding my bike with my dog in our small town.
He wondered who this woman was that he’d never met. He was driving the same direction, stopped at a stop sign, and watched me go into my salon — so he figured out who I was.
Then the very next day, I texted him completely out of the blue asking to meet for counseling… he was very surprised! 😂
God was setting things up in ways we couldn’t see.

Ben replied & we scheduled a time to meet at his building for a consultation.
I was killing time before our appointment when I got in a 🚲bicycle wreck on the way there. I showed up bloody & a complete mess on my bike.
When Ben came out to greet me, he smiled warmly & introduced himself. I was so embarrassed — I hadn’t realized how attractive he was! I quickly told him I’d been in an accident. He immediately noticed the blood & offered to help me.
This was not how I pictured our first meeting going 😂

After hearing Ben’s name so many times, I looked him up on Facebook. His profile picture was of his little daughter — not himself. I still didn’t know his age or what he looked like, but I learned he was a pastor and counselor. So I figured God was telling me I needed pastoral counseling.
I messaged him to ask if he’d meet with me as a counselor.
Little did I know… God had something completely different in mind. ☺️
Meeting my husband wasn’t on my radar. I had just surrendered my whole life to God — my plans, my fears, my need to control my life.
A few weeks later, I kept hearing one name in random conversations. After several people brought up Ben Kolars, I walked into a gathering I almost skipped…
There I sat across from a woman I’d never met. The first words out of her mouth were: “Hello, do you happen to know Ben Kolars?”
It was so strange it finally got my attention. So I looked him up on Facebook…

@LisaSully1015@NJBeisner Have you ever changed your mind? That’s what your post shows. JD changing his mind from 2016 to current. It’s great that you are an RN. That’s a noble profession. I bet you have to deal with people changing their minds all the time. I hope you have a great night.
