JUPITER COMMUNITY APPROVES TOKEN NET RELEASE REDUCTION PROPOSAL

Jupiter's community has approved a proposal to reduce future JUP token net releases to zero, receiving 75% support.

The plan includes the indefinite postponement of the Jupuary airdrop, with 700 million JUP tokens moved to a community cold wallet; original usage amounts and staking snapshots will be preserved.

Team token releases are also suspended indefinitely, with Jupiter's balance sheet handling team member sales.

Additionally, the proposal addresses Mercurial stakeholder selling pressure by accelerating unlocks and having Jupiter's balance sheet acquire an equivalent amount of tokens.

BITCOIN: RETAIL HOLDINGS RISE AS LARGE HOLDERS REDUCE POSITIONS

Santiment data indicates Bitcoin wallets under 0.1 BTC have increased holdings by ~2.5% since the last October all-time high, with this group's supply share reaching its highest level since mid-2024. In contrast, large holders (10-10,000 BTC) have decreased their total holdings by ~0.8%.

This structural divergence is often associated with choppy, range-bound price action, preventing clear trend development. Analysis suggests retail purchases provide market support and short-term momentum. However, a sustained rebound depends on large holders shifting from distribution to net accumulation.

Bitcoin's price is currently in the mid-$60,000 range. The key determinant for a sustained upward trend is a cessation of whale selling pressure and a shift to structural buying.

GOLDMAN SACHS PROJECTS GOLD TO REACH $5400 BY END-2026

Goldman Sachs forecasts gold prices to gradually ascend, targeting $5,400 per ounce by the close of 2026. This projection is underpinned by sustained central bank gold acquisitions, expected to accelerate in 2026 at 2025 levels, and increased private investor holdings, driven by anticipated Federal Reserve rate reductions. The firm indicates significant upside risk if private sector diversification, particularly via bullish option structures, intensifies. While the medium-term trend remains upward, substantial price volatility is anticipated.

US CPI DATA RELEASE TRIGGERS DOVISH SHIFT

The latest U.S. CPI data release led to a slight dovish shift in market expectations for Federal Reserve rate cuts.

Consequently, the U.S. dollar weakened, and S&P 500 index futures erased prior losses. Analysts indicate this report supports the Fed's continued rate reduction path.

However, economists caution that the data might be artificially suppressed, citing the absence of October CPI figures due to a government shutdown and the late collection of November data, which encompassed seasonal holiday discounts.

Notably, meat prices surged 8.9% year-over-year, marking the largest increase since 2022, with fresh ground beef rising nearly 15%. The December report is expected to offer a clearer view of underlying inflation trends.
