WPPScangroup AGM just ended. 🚨High darama AGM!
-The best AGM I have ever attended.
-Tense at the beginning but great management by Chair Richard Omwela.
-Presentation by
@bharatthakrar
was for goosebumps.
-Bharat was allowed to do presentation un-interupted for 30+minutes. What a show. Total deference by the board
-Total failure by WPP representatives to attend is disrepectful to local shareholders
-3 Directors proposed for election by WPP also did not show up to be introduced. WTF.
-Secret revelation by Bharat Thakrar. WPP have given him a poison pill[ If you want your company back, pay us 56% of cash held. 56% of 2b= 1.2b]

Welcome to the New Nairobi Animal Orphanage Experience!
Kenya has long been recognised as a global leader in wildlife protection. Now, it is raising the bar once again with the ambitious development of a world-class New Nairobi Animal Orphanage and Rescue Centre by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).
Located on an 89-acre site directly opposite the Bomas of Kenya, the new facility will replace the current orphanage inside Nairobi National Park.
Established in 1964, the existing centre has served the nation with distinction but is now severely overstretched. Confined to just 7.4 acres, it grapples with overcrowded enclosures, limited veterinary capacity, inadequate rehabilitation space, and intense visitor pressure.
The new orphanage, valued at approximately Ksh 4 billion, will be more than 20 times larger in scale. It represents a complete reimagining of modern wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.
The Galleria-Bomas site was selected for its optimal balance of space, accessibility, and conservation value. Other options were carefully evaluated and ruled out. The existing site due to overcrowding, traffic congestion, and pressure on indigenous trees; the Southern Bypass because of disruptive aircraft noise from Wilson Airport; and Athi River for being too remote, which would raise costs and limit access for schools and the public.
In contrast, the Galleria-Bomas location offers larger animal habitat, minimal ecological disruption, excellent connectivity, and seamless integration with Nairobi’s tourism and education infrastructure.
At its heart will be a state-of-the-art wildlife hospital, advanced veterinary units, quarantine and nursery facilities, and expansive rehabilitation and rewilding zones. These will give injured, orphaned, displaced, and confiscated animals the best possible chance of returning to the wild.
Once the new facility becomes operational, the current 7.4-acre site will be restored and reintegrated into the natural ecosystem of Nairobi National Park.
The visitor experience promises to be world-class. The new campus will comfortably accommodate higher numbers of guests while eliminating congestion. Thoughtfully designed interpretation centres, outdoor classrooms, boardwalks, and viewing areas will transform every visit into an immersive, educational journey that prioritises both learning and animal welfare.
The project is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs during construction and operation, while significantly expanding capacity to host over 20,000 students and visitors annually.
In scale and vision, the New Nairobi Animal Orphanage will stand alongside the best wildlife rescue and conservation campuses globally, while retaining Kenya’s unique advantage of being the only such facility located in a capital city with a national park on its doorstep.
Clearly, this is more than an upgrade. It is a game-changing investment in Kenya’s wildlife, education, tourism, and continued global leadership in conservation.

Many unmarried, cohabiting couples have limited legal protections if their relationship ends or a partner dies, even after long-term relationships or raising children together.
Labour is consulting on reforms to strengthen the legal protections available to these couples.
Ngemi, Folk Fusion, Fisherman's, Solfest, etc... and many Kenyan gigs feature exclusively homegrown talent (without a "main act" that render others opening acts) and pull audiences by the thousands yet the artists sing in their vernacular language.
Right now, there are several toddlers in New York City who don’t know it yet, but they’re not going to be going to college because their parents just decided they need to be at Game 4 no matter what.
the fact he may carve out time to attend two basketball games merely weeks after saying he didn’t have time to attend his own son’s wedding is objectively hilarious 😂
