@windeerbear@risnerking Not harmful at all but it goes to show how we’ve degraded as a society because movies are now being praised for having a bit of nuance in their writing and people are geeking out over surface level stuff. Obsession would’ve been a hard “mid” in the 90’s/early 2000’s.
@dkmsully@Olly_0224@mxke_teo You’re implying that the OG relies on nostalgia and not good writing. People would still eat it up nowadays, new fans love it.
@dkmsully@Olly_0224@mxke_teo Sorry but that’s such a dumb take LMAO. S1 faithfully adapts what Frank Miller created in the comics. Stick and Matt’s childhood was adapted perfectly. And S3 is like… the perfect adaption of Born Again.
@MagicHandz@JusticeforFoggy And I could keep going honestly. Nothing is in bad faith, i genuinely wanna give Born Again a chance but it’s hard to ignore these writing faults when the OG show set a high standard even when it was at its lowest.
@MagicHandz@JusticeforFoggy When Matt outed himself they don’t even acknowledge how she feels about it, and they don’t even have a proper dialogue scene. Mind you, they own a legal practice together.
@MagicHandz@JusticeforFoggy Nothing will ever top Elena Cardenas subplot in OG S1 or Ray Nadeem’s subplot in S3. Actual characters you learn to give a shit about. Don’t even get me started on how poorly Kirsten Mcduffie was treated this season, they barely acknowledge her or her thoughts. One dimensional.
