@LBC Why is his worldview any better? It's all good and well bashing the nebulous concept of "misogyny" but what alternative is he offering? Having well established male and female roles in society has proven pretty succesful throughout human history thus far.
@headinajaro@adammocklerr It's just an observation most people from outside the US would make I imagine; that the threshhold for when lethal force is "justified" seems to be much lower in the US compared to other 1st world countries. More a response to the "he had no other choice" crowd to be honest.
@headinajaro@adammocklerr Do you think the French police would have fired shots in this circumstace, what about the Canadian or Australian police? I honestly couldn't imagine this happening in any other 1st world country, all of which have cars and armed police. Maybe their training is different.
@imstillscottish@peter_grice@SwipeWright I think the body cams will assist a lot in this case. I don't think the police in other comparable countries would have shot her, or even stood in front of a potentially fleeing vehicle to begin with, if I'm being honest.
@23_aneesh@ianmiles Whenever I see police incidents come out of America I think "what would European or Canadian etc. police have done in this circumstance?". It seems to me America has by far the lowest requirements of 1st world countries r.e. when deadly force is deemed "absolutely necessary".
@Ashleydoncare@FFS_WhatNow@ChrisCuomo I didn't even state my opinion on the matter, I was just curious if you genuinely didn't understand what Elon meant.
@djdylhen@Airhead2@LBC@grok briefly summarise the case of Chelsea Russell who was convicted for posting a "grossly offensive message" when she posted rap lyrics on her Instagram in memory of her deceased friend.
@_Debbie____@VitoGSD@AllanJTCampbell@tedcruz Isn't that what libel and slander laws are for, if you can prove damages of course? Surely you have to understand that if this is the new precedent then many of the celebrities bashing Trump/Farage relentlessly for years could face the same sentence? It's a pretty slippery slope.
@s_scholtysek@TRobinsonNewEra@kurtcaz1@Fred_cpo Well I mean if you avoid all the parts of the city that are like this it's easy to think this isn't going on. This is in Frankfurt but truth be told every single major city has areas like this now with open drug use and squalor. It isn't getting any better.
@LeoKearse It was only a matter of time before there was a unified, global effort to crack down on free speech on the internet, in a way I'm surprised it took this long. Only approved opinions are allowed in this wondrous new digital world.
@tonythepub@BrianONeilLS1@Togetherdec@Keir_Starmer If you have sent copies of your photo IDs to sites before, you have likely already fallen for these "dodgy sites", because no legitimate site was asking for that from visitors just to use their sites, until this week.... Time to get computer literate pal!
@tonythepub@BrianONeilLS1@Togetherdec@Keir_Starmer I trust some people, I don't trust third party companies who purposely work out of shady countries to harvest data from users. The question should be why do YOU trust them?
@tonythepub@BrianONeilLS1@Togetherdec@Keir_Starmer Do you honestly trust third party age verification companies based in countries where the UK has no jurisdiction to ensure data is being handled responsibly and ethically? You understand it isn't a case of if, but when copies of your IDs are sold onto the black market, right?
@darrengrimes Prove your age by sending some of your most sensitive info to unscrupulous 3rd party ID verification companies that are susceptible to data breaches, may sell your data or could simply steal your identity for nefarious means. Wait, you don't want to do that? Do you hate kids?
@CrusaderViking0 @alexarmstrong A nationwide campaign educating parents how to use these tools that have been available to them for years would have protected far more children than this Orwellian "safety act".
