@OldSchoolBoston i went to dozens of Sunday matinee punk shows bet. 1985 and 1989. Legendary. Like when YoT came up from NYC with Bold (known as Crippled Youth then) Nearly tore the place down!
@TrungTPhan Radiohead is not the first time MTV propelled an otherwise middling band into stardom. DuranDuran would be nothing without MTV. Madonna, Wham! GNR...all bigger for MTV's reach. One could argue Nirvanna, and the Grunge genre were completely fueled on MTV airplay.
@NewWaveAndPunk Crooked Beat itself is worth the price of admission. But bangers like The Call Up, Lightning Strikes, Up In Heaven, Police on my Back and Somebody Got Murdered make this record a must have for anyone who can appreciate genius rock songwriting.
