New Blog Post: The Sad Unusability of Video Game Reviews. There is a way that pro reviewers can be helpful. It just doesn't work for video games. Even if there were reliable reviewers. Which there is not.
So just use Steam refunds a lot!

@haide023@The__Goomba funnily enough, that is exactly how I got introduced to the Disgaea series, played the DS version and went from there 😂 In hindsight definitely a limited version, but it was a solidly done port, given the limited hardware
It's a case by case basis, some things age better than others, graphics are not exempt from that, but also far from the most important part of a game where that applies.
Not all games hold up when replayed, that's just how it is. The truly great ones usually do, but there's no guarantee. There can also be a difference between the experience of someone that has played a title back then and one that just now experiences it.
I don't see what's insane about it... setting aside a fixed day as personal time to remember someone who has been your best friend since childhood (so for most of your life!) seems fine to me, so what if it has been four years?
We have no idea how close they were (I would assume very) or what they've been through together, how badly it is actually affecting him mentally, it might just be important enough to him to keep the ritual, his friend couldn't have been too much older than him either so death at a young age is a factor (and we don't know the cause)
Her reacting like that after just nine months of relationship on the other hand... good riddance is all I can say
@OliverJia1014 There may be a significantly smaller cartridge available, but I can't find how much the capacity of that one is exactly, but it sounds like it would be too small to get a 17GB game on it without significant compromise
going by the image, it's not about compression or optimization, if I'm seeing it correctly, it'll have 17 GB on the system. That sounds more like an issue with cartridge costs, last I checked Nintendo only had the expensive 64GB ones available and no smaller ones fir Switch 2.
The storage price increases I would guess will not have improved the cartridge price situation, so if Nintendo STILL don't give others the option of smaller sizes, I can very much understand them opting for the Game-Key Cards.
@shinymeeki@jan_murray@unherd I don't usually watch that genre, but I can see the appeal 😄 My mom watched ER back in the day, so that's what I often saw some scenes of here and there.
Using the 24 formula does sound like it can work quite well, since it can give individual cases more time to develop
