I really feel like I got CATFISHED by the Indiana Fever this season. 😂

1️⃣ Drafting Raven Johnson was an odd choice when the obvious need was size in the frontcourt.

2️⃣ The entire Fever organization seemed determined to push Kelsey Mitchell as the face of the franchise and make us believe she was the MVP favorite.

3️⃣ Then the media joined in, acting like Kelsey suddenly became an all-time great overnight. The amount of praise felt completely disconnected from the actual results.

4️⃣ And what happened? 6th place AGAIN. First-round exit. And when the playoffs came around, Kelsey underperformed.

5️⃣ Aliyah Boston suddenly wasn’t hitting us with the same “bow bow bow” energy she had last season. The whole vibe felt different.

6️⃣ Caitlin Clark gets hot… and somehow she’s coming out of the game. 🤦🏾‍♂️

7️⃣ Coach Stephanie White doesn’t seem interested in defending her own players, takes shots that can be interpreted as digs at Caitlin, and then Caitlin gives that awkward “I ride with Steph” speech. Like… WHAT are we doing here?

8️⃣ Then Stephanie White shows up in her own custom shoes during Caitlin Clark signature shoe night. Come on, man. 😂

9️⃣ Stephanie White then went completely nuclear on the fan discourse and basically told “online communities to go to hell.” 😭 Like… excuse me?! You’re coaching in a league where online fans are a MASSIVE part of the conversation.

🔟 Kelsey Mitchell’s exit speech was bizarre. It sounded less like appreciation for the fans and more like frustration that people weren’t giving her the attention she wanted. And the whole “I’m Caitlin Clark’s teammate” dynamic sounded unnecessarily divisive.

1️⃣1️⃣ And then Caitlin’s OWN PEERS basically ranked her as the 11th guard.

At some point you have to ask yourself:

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE INDIANA FEVER?

I thought I was buying into a team building around Caitlin Clark.

Instead, it felt like the organization spent the season trying to convince everybody that Caitlin was just another piece.
