@SelfishWizard@EssentiaFounda1 (6) This shifting baseline proposal not only provides further logical implications, but is also more grounded in science, as things like entropy are no longer subject to blind randomness, but are rather scalings to the bandwidth restraints of the conscious agent's perception.
@SelfishWizard@EssentiaFounda1 (5) "While materialism [the model of space-time being fundamental reality] requires two unexplained miracles—matter and consciousness arising from matter—idealism requires only consciousness."
@SelfishWizard@EssentiaFounda1 (4) consciousness seems to be the one completely irreducible, undefinable property of reality from the space-time fundamentalistic perspective. When defined as fundamental reality per se, paradoxical quantum mechanics begin to make sense.
@SelfishWizard@EssentiaFounda1 (3) fundamental reality. From there, the same mathematics would still be required to prove scientific theorems. Doing so wouldn't remove an ounce of objectivity, it again just shifts the already idealistic baseline. This in fact is the most logical approach, as
@SelfishWizard@EssentiaFounda1 (2) Hoffman isn't proposing naive idealism of unicorns & fairies, but simply that we shift our scientific baseline assumption that space-time is fundamental reality (which is also an idealistic assumption with no scientific proof) to the possibility that consciousness is
@SelfishWizard@EssentiaFounda1 (1) Yes, but science itself does not begin with an objective baseline. "Any proof rests on at least one axiom which it cannot prove." There is no such thing as an objective baseline, and there isn't a single scientific proof which at its very core does not arise from idealism.
@TaoTeChinggg I see much misinterpretation here. This isn't to be taken literally; it's a spiritual tip for daily practice. You can share what you know if it's helpful/necessary. But if one looks closely, one will notice often the motivation to talk/share knowledge is to enhance the egoic self
@sanjabh So long as one is the doer of actions, meditation can be helpful. For one who has realized the Self beyond the doer, dualistic meditation is a doing and thus a hindrance. Meditation can be helpful in realizing the Self.

To be awakened does not mean that there are no more thoughts, traumas, conditionings or behavioural patterns in the system. To be awakened means that you are not negatively affected by them. Every experience simply arises and is seen without causing suffering.
There are only two ways to conquer destiny or be independent of it. One is to enquire for whom is this destiny, and discover that only the ego is bound by destiny and not the Self, and that the ego is non-existent. The other way is to 'kill' the ego.

@HarpreetG8 @Nisargadatta_M But one need not believe any of this, and in fact it is best not to attach to any belief. Free your consciousness, or the consciousness that you are, from the mind and you will realize this directly for yourself if you have not already. Absolutely no faith is required at all.
@HarpreetG8 @Nisargadatta_M To make the witnessing consciousness an object of observation rather than subject as NM suggests is to be aware of one's Self as pure awareness per se rather than to be aware as a sub of objects. This isn't easily understood/explained. Sufficient consciousness must 1st be freed.
