As long as I *get* 5 digits of Pi, Iโll be happy. 6 or 7 is ideal. 8 will be a stretch. 9 or more is probably too muchโฆ unless Iโm really hungryโฆ ๐ #IYKYK#Pi#NotEveryoneWillGetThis
Anyone else notice that #ldnont smells a bit more like cow today than normal? Or just me and my nose thatโs been away for two weeks? #ThanksForComingToMyTedTalk
You know youโre #emotionallyexhausted when you hear a group of #Dutch diners at the table next to you at a #Brussels airport hotel and you begin to #tearup because it reminds you of hearing your grandparents and other relatives speaking Dutch at family gatheringsโฆ๐ช
All due respect, I've spent nearly two decades in the original languages on this one, trying NOT to be affirming for most of those years.
I failed. Because I was wrong in my unaffirming stance.
I have sat at the feet of Rabbis. I have spoken to Doctors, Psychologists, Parents, and people in the Transgender & LGBQ+ community. I have listened to their stories; I know these people and their faith intimately. I have seen the deep wounds caused by the "Truth"=Love Crowd.
Could I yet be wrong? Yes.
Unequivocally, yes.
But as God is my witness, I will be wrong having loved with every fiber of my being. I will be wrong having supped and laughed across a dinner table with the LGBTQ community as often as I could. I will be wrong having invested my heart and my future into the oppressed and marginalized. I will be wrong having sacrificed every ounce of my white privilege to be wrong.
And I won't regret a second of it.
Not. One. Second.
But do not pretend to play your smarter-and-holier-than-thou schtick with me on this topic.
You're not.
And no, I'm not praying about my opinion on this one. My thoughts and prayers are now words and deeds. I'm sorry that makes you uncomfortable.
But, I am still praying. I'm praying for those who think hate is love and those who think saying things like "you are not a Christian" to a pastor is at all acceptable on any day... let alone the first day of Holy Week.
I'm praying people stop writing unacceptable tripe like this to people they disagree with so I can stop responding to bigotry and get back to loving the very people Jesus told me (and you) to protect.
