We have an incredible pre-film panel featuring the UK’s leading activists, exploring the legacy of black British activism!
We’ve got @KingKreol of @ukblm, @ZahraDalilah1 of @kinfolknetwork, @misschazmatazz of @ukblackpride, Zita Holborne of @BARACUK, and the legendary Gus John.
Another group we didn't discuss this eve @DavidLammy@HackneyAbbott is young black people deported under Operation Nexus due to repeated disproportionate stop & search because of #InstitutionalRacism , never arrested/charged but deported just the same #WindrushScandal#windrush
It looks like some combination of a possible deportation over night, unusual lockdowns & the horrible stress & anxiety of being in Detention which created rumour. Some detainees still feel it is true. We will keep monitoring the situation, the home office have been known to lie!
How did you vote on the 2014 Immigration Act? To my knowledge you abstained. I maybe wrong as I've been wrong once before. & if you abstained you're response below is misleading perhaps even inadvertently misleading. https://t.co/wE1uXhxYdL
Even Ress-Mogg said it caused them great concern and a heated battle ensued within the Con-party so I'm not sure why you and the others that didn't vote against it didn't see the how bad a terrible a policy it was and is #repealIA2014 https://t.co/HsDirWP6D6
Top Tory spin doctor tries to use smokescreen and semantics in order to defend the Home Secretary and her disgraceful handling on the #Windrush crisis. It will not work, the public demand the truth not waffle and denial from the Tory bosses! https://t.co/uaeKWbNNHd
Michael Gove defended 'rudderless' Amber Rudd to the hilt over the last few days - claiming that in no way did she set immigration targets. He was lying - she did set targets and mislead parliament & the committees. Ruddy hell, Gove is a WormTongue #GoveOut#MayMustGo#r4today
Lucy Powell was not one of the 5 Labour MPs that voted 'No' on the Immigration Act and yet we wait to hear from her about her decision. But she has time to delight in the first tragedy of this political fallout Marc Wadsworth @jacquelinewalker, @CarmenPeruga@AnnetteWright https://t.co/4Vva27EE9P
I’m very pleased that we are now seeing expulsions from the Labour Party for anti-semitism. @JennieGenSec said she would speed up decisions and be tough, and it’s really good to see that happening. https://t.co/5GCM4Y0N0v
@LucyMPowell No no no Lucy don't get it twisted. It was the policy in the beginning, middle & end of Rudds Resignation. It has been the Windrush Generation Children-Defend campaign that has demanded it right from the very beginning, championed it in the middle achieved its end. https://t.co/NlqQDssFTx
Amber Rudd was left nowhere else to go. It wasn’t the policy or even handling of policy that did for her in end (should have been), but telling parliament there weren’t deportation targets. Even as I constituency MP, I knew there were targets!
Stop flight PVT070 to Jamaica, here is an extract of the removal notice, there should be no mass removals given the #WindrushScandal . Please make people who could be impacted aware that they need to get urgent legal advice & if they need lawyers we can help. #jamaica50
yoo I’m fuming, the way people in the same uni halls as me are chanting “we hate the blacks” outside my bedroom door. Words cannot describe how sad this makes me feel, in this 2018 people think this is still acceptable😤
