Post from a Beekeeper 🐝
“Its late, and maybe in the morning I'll delete this post, but I've just got home and for now I need to write this down.
Earlier this evening I received a message from a home owner to say they had a swarm of bees in their hedge, but they were worried about them because children had been throwing water at them.
By the time my fellow beekeeper and I arrived, what had been a beautiful prime swarm was reduced to a few hundred drenched bees, huddling limply around their queen.
I've already deleted the photos of the puddles of water, the dripping wet hedge, and the many, many dead and dying bees that hadn't been able to escape the attack; sharing those pictures serves no purpose.
We gently placed the bees that had survived into a collection box, and hopefully tomorrow, when they've had chance to dry out and settle, we'll check on them and if necessary feed them; they'll be exhausted and possibly (understandably) defensive. They've been through a lot.
Please, please, help me to educate your children, your grandchildren, your neices and nephews, your neighbours, your colleagues and your friends that a swarm of bees isn't dangerous - they're amazing creatures that are just looking for a new home.
Please don't let anyone harm them.
Just call a beekeeper who will gladly rehome them.
Please help me to spread this message and hopefully save any more bees from being unnecessarily harmed” 😢
Sad and unhappy Beekeeper
Johnson & Patel want to deport refugees to Rwanda before even hearing their stories. Many have fled repression & war
We spoke to a Syrian held at a UK detention centre & recorded the call
Fearing retribution, his words are translated and spoken by an actor
This is his story
Bang on from @GNev2. High-ranking politicians, including the Prime Minister, gave the nod to fans booing players for taking a stand against racism.
They cannot turn around and act surprised by what’s been unleashed now: they facilitated it! https://t.co/s7n1LCnCbp
@NHSMillion This report and the people behind it are appalling. I Love the NHS and I am grateful every day for the hard work and dedication of all their staff.
We are devastated to see upset tweets from NHS staff about this report . Staff have been working themselves into the ground to save lives for over a year and now this 😔. RT if stand with NHS staff of you believe the NHS IS something very special 🌈

Baruch Dayan Ha’Emet. It with the deepest sadness that we regret to inform you that Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks (HaRav Ya’akov Zvi ben David Arieh z’’l) passed away early this morning, Saturday 7th November 2020 (Shabbat Kodesh 20th MarCheshvan 5781).
It looks like the hot weather is sticking around a while longer so here's a reminder about the dangers of open water from Beckie Ramsay 💔
If you know someone who might be planning on spending time near open water please have a chat with them - it could save their life.
If everyone who has ever been grateful for non-British NHS staff followed and retweeted we would reach a million followers in minutes and be much stronger together
