After #Wordle success with Yr10 this morning, this afternoon brought Yr12 essays (appropriately) referencing @CaptainAmerica’s Twitter account and @Harry_Styles#Eroda website in a discussion of #postmodernism. What a day!
Congratulations to the Year 7 and 8 pupils who came third in the National Reading Champions final earlier today. Great organisation by @COLFESlibrary internally and @Literacy_Trust and @mrdillypresents externally - thank you all! #NRCQuiz2021
Year 12 - if you’re wondering how to fit in a book around exam revision this half term, I strongly recommend @CalebANelson’s #OpenWater. It’s short, set locally and made me cry. https://t.co/lIkGYhZOkZ
#WorldPoetryDay Poetry can be uplifting or heartbreaking or funny or inspiring. Some poems do it all at the same time. This is one I’ve been coming back to recently: https://t.co/70Jjt9wJeq

Accidentally deleted this link for @COLFESlibrary while trying to sort out the numbers on a thread. (Lucky we’re not the IT or the Maths department). New YA book prize:
A great choice from a great list. Another of Adichie’s wonderful novels, Purple Hibiscus, has just appeared on the list of GCSE texts, and will be the class novel for Year 10. (We’ve also chosen it as the virtual Bookclub book for Years 11-13, for whom it wasn’t an option.)
Missed our midnight reveal? For those who aren't night owls, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has been crowned your 'Winner of Winners.'
You voted in your thousands & chose her book Half of a Yellow Sun from 25 years of incredible #WomensPrize winners: https://t.co/waCItN6Ppa
My Top 5, in no particular order - The Power, On Beauty, How to be Both, Home Fire and Song of Achilles. Can’t choose, and I haven’t even read Hamnet yet!
Which is your favourite ever #WomensPrize winner?
From Maggie O'Farrell's Hamnet to Zadie Smith's On Beauty, which book gets your vote?
Choose your favourite and help us crown our Winner of Winners in November: https://t.co/FJxTzmHEcR

@CarnegieEnglish It’s actually in the TBR pile for half term. Quite a bit of what you see is what I haven’t read yet - the rest is in storage. I’ll get back to you when I finish it!
