@mehdirhasan You’ll also never see senior Dem officials who funded genocide profiled like this either. We live in a political culture where distasteful commentary is more scandalous than the mass murder of brown children.
There are dozens of actual far-right extremists in the House GOP caucus, people who have said and done racist, corrupt, crazy things. And you’ve never heard of them. Because the Times and other establishment media outlets have never profiled them like this. The GOP gets a pass.
@Jaded_215@neeratanden@kneepads92 talking about “stay woke” while your tax dollars continue to subsidize the Jim Crow apartheid regime that is Israel genocide the Palestinians. you are a disgrace to our black ancestors who endured the worse while you remain quiet bc a Dem enabled a genocide.
@Jaded_215@neeratanden@kneepads92 notice how she didn’t answer the question? and yes - screaming at a politician is more contemptible than enabling a genocide. and perhaps bc people were jailed, expelled and deported? and under Trump, folks getting kidnapped and shot. so what’s your next disingenuous question?
Joy Reid: “Israel does not represent all Jewish people anymore than Saudi Arabia represents all Muslims. Let’s stop pretending this foreign country equals Jewish people. My friends who are Jewish got nothing to do with no Bibi Netanyahu. Zionism stems from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Judaism is 4,000 years old. These are not the same thing”
@jae___x2@_chapinpapiDos@WmAG_V idiots - there’s no conflict w/ not subsidizing Jim Crow Israel’s genocide and advancing black interests here. in fact, they are aligned if you reallocate those $ to support healthcare and housing. Hasan’s policies are far better for black America than any establishment Dem’s.
There is nothing “common sense” about continuing to place profits over working class Americans. More and more people are starting to understand they deserve good and dignified lives, union jobs, to be able to afford rent, childcare and more. That’s incompatible with your continued servitude of the Billionaire class.
@BookerGWash@AdryEm1 fake ass Alpha betraying his “Love for all mankind” ethos by using poor Mississippians as a shield to excuse Mississippian tax dollars going to subsidize a genocide. better not wear no black and gold out and about. cuz we snatching letters and colors of ya.
these neoliberal negro weirdos think it’s ok for the gov to snatch what little money people have to subsidize a $Bn genocide and apartheid / Jim Crow regime on steroids while at every turn resisting any call for structural relief at home. you’re a disgrace to our ancestors.
@DRondon12@BookerGWash that’s bc you’re dull upstairs and have uncritically subscribed to the Reaganian ethos that the reason people can’t afford things is bc they don’t work hard enough. everything is up but wages, and you out hear chearing on the paragons of greed.
@cdseghetti@Ange_Amene no - we’re aiming to get rid of the jack and Jill negroes who rather give us trickledown representation and black music month as opposed to fighting for the actual policies that would disproportionately benefit black people. that’s why we’re keeping Summer Lee and Ayanna.
“Centrist Democrats—who’ve done nothing but vote scold, belittle, condescend & refuse to stop backing genocide—I need you to find an army of highly motivated young volunteers who will door-knock for capitalism and Israel’s right to snuff out children in tents” Brilliant idea Van!
Again I will keep asking this question: the UN, HRW, Amnesty Intl, B'Tselem, Physicians for Human Rights Israel and the Intl Association of Genocide Scholars have all concluded Israel committed genocide in Gaza. Is supporting genocide “extremist” or no? Is it “authoritarian”?
@harrisonjaime@keithedwards this is the same mentality that led RGB to overstay which plunged us into a constitutional crisis. severe entitlement vs. listening to voters. what the Dem house is or of whom it comprises is decided by the voters - not the politicians. neoliberalism led to Trump, so make way.
i don't understand this line of argument. you hired me last cycle to help lessen the impact of 3rd party candidates!
do you want a 3rd party that makes it harder for democrats to get elected, or do you want a big tent party?
you should come on my channel and we can discuss!
@DannyDGlover@RhonnieF this is why they’re so afraid of progressives - they can no longer get away w/ providing cheap trickledown representation when progressives are fighting for policies that deliver structural economic relief.
As I gather support for my resolution to recognize June as Black Music Month, I'm asking my colleagues about their favorite Black Musician and what Black music means to them.
It's safe to say Queen Bey's inspirational anthems are a House favorite!
@DannyDGlover@RhonnieF exactly - they’re fighting for the Jack & Jill / Martha’s Vineyard types to “break barriers” and be the “first ___” bc elite blacks can’t be bothered w/ trivial matters like healthcare for all, living wages, etc. bc they’re too busy trying to make partner at Latham & Watkins.
