@jon_trickett@politicshome Good article Jon
And it’s political suicide in the 422 Brexit voting seats in England and Wales that would almost guarantee Leave supporting Reform a huge majority
Brexit didn't cause the structural hollowing out of our economy; the 2008 crash did. The EU isn't a progressive haven, rejoining won't fix our problems. It's a distraction from the real task: a rupture with neoliberal orthodoxy. My piece for @politicshome https://t.co/cKsmRteiGp
🚨 New figures show that knife crime is down by 11% and overall homicides are down by 7%, since July 2024.
Fatal knife attacks are also at their lowest level in 35 years.
The problem is Rod that most of the Lib Dem seats are actually Tory and would probably return to the Tories - Labour could only win the 2020 Remain voting seats and 25 of them are SNP
I cannot see how appealing to the 220 Remain voting seats can win an election when 422 Seats in England and Wales voted leave - it’s not rocket science to see leave is the only path to a majority
“With tactical voting” - the problem is the “tactic” in this poll is to vote against Reform when in reality all “tactical voting” under FPTP is against the incumbent government (that’s what happened to the Sunak government in 2024 and in the Makerfield by-election to bring down the Starmer government)
In my opinion “with tactical voting” this poll would show a Reform clear lead
@DPJHodges
@Leeaafly So what was the criminal offence the investigation exposed?
That’s ITVs problem - a bunch of unpleasant people saying horrible things is not an offence and doesn’t justify law breaking on this scale
Dan - ITV CEO appears to have done what Nat West did to Reform politicians - break our laws
Nat West CEO was sacked by her Board
Forging a passport carries a jail sentence and so does interfering in a democratic election
ITV “investigation” found no more than unpleasant pub talk that no one should defend but breaking our laws does not justify a fishing expedition
(ITV clearly had no prior information to investigate as the more serious criminal offences were committed in a constituency where they found nothing to broadcast but they appear to have affected the result of a democratic election)
I predict the ITV CEO will now be in big trouble
I think you are wrong to defend law breaking Dan - especially interfering in elections - imagine the Greens did this to Labour to lose them seats?
@HFalconerMP@MarieBell626390 So everything will be more expensive like it is in the EU?
You are a TRAITOR mate
Farage will terminate all of these when he gets in and Le Pen won’t ratify it
@PaulKohlerSW19 No one cares what you think
We had a referendum and you
Lost
If you don’t like it, leave the UK and go and live in the EU
No one is forcing you to stay here against your wishes
The fullest plan yet for Britain to rejoin the European Union has been published in the wake of the Prime Minister’s call for a closer relationship with the bloc. Today the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), an influential centre-left think tank, publishes two substantial reports laying out the most serious approach yet to rejoining the EU, as Andy Burnham’s pro-European tilt begins to take on a life of its own.

No replies - only an idiot is going to reopen the debate about Scottish independence - Scots have no interest in devolution - all this does is force another independence referendum which they will probably win as the average age of a Scots voter is over 60 - and they all support independence
Devolution was never meant to stop at Holyrood’s door. We have one of the strongest devolved Parliaments in Europe and yet we’re still one of its most centralised nations. We want to change that & want to work with the Scottish Government to empower Scotland’s regions.
@faisalislam They are using a too low inflation figure of 3% which is why they are overestimating GDP
Unemployment is the real measure of a growing economy - and Labour are a job destroying machine
He’s an idiot / he’s opening the door to a second independence referendum
I think yes would win due to the older population of Scots who support independence
Prime Minister Andy Burnham says the "time has come" for deeper devolution in Scotland and to unlock a feeling of positivity for young people, who he says are missing out on opportunities.
