First thought: Why don't the fans storm the field to celebrate the @USARugby#BiarritzSevens victory? Then I remembered what happened last time an American rugby team won 🥇 in France. #Paris1924
Over the years, I've purchased and gifted away dozens of copies (new and used). To see copies listed at such prices on the used market is mind boggling. If you bought a copy because it's in vogue, at least read it completely. Eyes of Dust and Big Same Was My Friend are excellent.
Not sure who needs to read this, but please don't buy copies of Harlan Ellison's book I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream just for the titular short story, just listen to it on YouTube. Copies should not be going for $200. Please don't burry a great collection on a shelf for a fad.
@BrianIsRowdy@nascarcasm And, as shown in this year's Full Speed, there's an empty spot on the shelf for the Harley J. Earl Trophy. If Brexton ever checks that box, the ability to fill that spot on the shelf would be an irreplaceable moment.
@chasebriscoe@daletanhardt Because, in a race that only pays 1st and 2nd, one JGR driver would definitely try to disqualify another JGR driver, with a net result of JGR losing $100k if successful. Bad enough to be AI slop, but anyone who falls for it lacks the most basic rational thought process on this.
@Turnermotrsport I've had it playing on DirecTV's Racer Channel all day. Guide had originally said would just be the first 90 minutes, but looks like they've done the whole day on that channel. I panicked when the YouTube feeds went dark
@manthey_racing@24hNBR Was a tough break, but wasn't much could do there. On the broadcast, the oil was almost impossible to see. Can't imagine the car at speed was any easier to see let alone adjust to.
@Surtur@NASCAR@katherinelegge Unfortunately, Monaco is not on this year's Memorial Weekend lineup. F1 will, instead, be running the Canadian Grand Prix.
@ConorDaly22 Fair. Would still prefer that it worked out as a de facto result rather than being locked into place by rule. Once a rule is in place, hard to imagine anyone takes a gamble at trying a startup. The other danger is flirting with the circumstances that led to 23XI's antitrust suit.
@ConorDaly22@IndyCarChick Only knock on it is the lack of any access to non-charter teams (500 aside). NASCAR has a charter that locks in 36 teams but still leaves multiple opportunities for non-charter cars to qualify and compete. Too bad there isn't a single other race on the calendar for non-charters
